Rosie O'Donnell was set to perform at the Hollywood Bowl's presentation of Les Misérables in concert later this summer.
However, O'Donnell has just pulled out of the show.
The reason?
She's having a family "emergency."
Her eldest son has a broken his wrist.
Broadway veteran Ruth Williamson will be replacing Rosie in the production.
A statement from the Hollywood Bowl says Rosie has "regretfully withdrawn from the performances in order to care for her eldest son, who broke his wrist."
So it seems Rosie has to stay home and stare at it while the bones heal?
She's going to cancel on her fans over a cast?
Doesn't she have her wife Kelli to help out and look after the kids????

The real reason Rosie backed out was; she lives in New York and the show is in L. A. Rosie would have to travel as CARGO because of her size and she did not want to travel that way. She needs to go on a diet, the big mouth fat slob. How would you like wake up in the morning an see that next to you, me I would rather poke my eyes out with a hot poker.

Well, depending what nerves may have been involved in the break, it is helpful to have someone around to do things for you. Dressing oneself, etc. can even be a task if the nerves have been stretched or worse, severed. My father recently had a similar break and my mother is at her wits end taking care of him. She can't wait til he gets the use back of what is now a dead hand!
I don't like Rosie at all, but I don't see what's so bad about wanting to be with her child after an injury like that. Most celebs would say "to hell with him" and let the nanny take him to the ER and take care of him. At least she's caring for her family.

Please don't EVER have any kids. A broken wrist means you can't do a lot of things for yourself. Maybe it's his writing hand. Maybe he has to go to physical therapy every day. Maybe he needs some extra TLC. Maybe, as his Mom, she wants to be there 100% for him. What the f*ck business is it of yours and who are you to judge? One thing I have noticed about you is that you always take your hate to another level when it's an overweight celeb - you must have some very deep-seated self loathing.

If my son broke his wrist I would be there for him no matter what his age is or if his father could be there. Sometimes a broken wrist can lead to something more like surgery. Also maybe he wanted his mom there. It must be tough to be around people who criticize you for not being there for your kids and then when you are they criticize you… I dont think she would give up this oppurtunity if she could actually be there.

Hey Perez, you've obviously never been a mom. When your kid gets hurt, the whole world stops and you cannot imagine being away from him. So cut Rosie some slack and if she wants to stare at her kid while he heals, so be it.
It is great that she places family first, but she should not expect people banging on the door for work. Shows must go on. She has a partner, another mom that should be able to care for a 12 yo in a sling. It is not like he was 2 or seriously ill. Perez is not wrong to question the reason. Re: Oxann – Years ago I took my nephew snowboarding. He can down a steep hill and panicked. He had only one days experience and used his left hand to slow his descent. While at the ER the nurses took him aside and tried to get him to declare I had broken his wrist. Did they ask this kid how it happened? You bet. Was he pressured to say something contrary? Who knows. I just know two lesbians raising a house full of kids is one screwed up situation.
