It looks like the Duggar family has some fierce competition!
Canadians Alexandru and Livia Ionce just welcomed baby number 18, a little girl named Abigail, to the world a few days ago.
Alexandru, 51, and Livia, 44, are Romanian immigrants who settled in Canada in 1990
They reportedly never planned how many children they would have when they got married 24 years ago.
Eighteen babies later, they still prefer to leave it in "God's hands," said Alexandru.
The other 17 kids range in age from 23 years to 23 months - nine girls and eight boys.
None are twins and all were born naturally, except four-year-old Filip, who was born by C-section.
Wonder if Momma Ionce is done with the baby making?

Yes, you can go back to vaginally after c-section… its called a VBAC(vaginal birth after cesarean). Its very possible.
Somebody said that they will rely on the government(tax payers) to pay for them. Up until now nobody heard of them… they were obviously supporting themselves perfectly fine. Some people want a big family. Just like some want a small family or no kids. Its THEIR choice… not yours.
It also helps that (i heard) canada doesn't charge for hospital/medical insurance. Everybody has it… so thats a HUGE charge taken off.

Canada the great social state give child benefit cheques to families who make under a certain amount. As a student i made a couple thousand (i lived on student loans) and for my son i'd get $290 a month from the federal government and $130 from Quebec….can u imagine that times 18???

I wonder if they really know their kids? Can you love someone if you don't know them? There can't be much one-on-one time between parents and kids. Who can they go to if they need comfort, support, advice and all the other things you're supposed to get from your parents? Maybe they turn to each other, but that's unfair for the older kids to assume a parental role.
Re: haley – After one c-section you can still have kids naturally. After 2 you have to have the rest via c-section as the scar on the uterus weakens and it is possible it can rupture due to contractions.

My guess is that the older kids take care of the younger ones, so the Mom and Dad are free to make more babies anytime they want.
