good cause, from what I hear it is really hard to adopt a child in America, and much easier to adopt kids from overseas.
It really upsets me when all these celebrities adopt children from other countries before adopting children in the US. Lets take care of our own first!

Dave Thomas does not allow gay couples to adopt. Do your research properly, Perez, instead of using these charities post to make yourself look better.
That's not true.
Only a third of Americans believe that same-sex parents raising an adoptive child definitely can provide a healthy environment.
In fact, virtually every valid study has concluded that children of gays and lesbians adjust positively and their families function well with their children’s outcomes comparable to those of heterosexuals.2

Not at all true. Family's do need to go through home studies and licensing processes to make sure they are appropriate to adopt the child, but it's not a particularly difficult process, especially compared to navigate everything involved in international adoption. Also, in general if you adopt from the Foster Care system their are very minimal costs, typically just court fees.
another great cause! and yes, although much more difficult as a procedure, please adopt domestically.

First, Dave Thomas himself is dead. Second, the Dave Thomas Foundation provides adoption information and promotion, but isn't an adoption agency, so the can't "allow" or "disallow" anyone to adopt.

There was some mystery years back about his daughter — she made a complaint about some family member abusing he, then dave got a hold of her and she recanted and apparently became a submissive zombie. boycott wendy's!

Domestic adoption is something that more people need to learn about - I saw a few comments that it is more difficult to adopt dometically and that just simply is not true.
Also, there are some major advantages to adopting dometically- such as the support (groups, classes, etc) that are available through most adoption agencies and in the state of texas- all adopted children's college education is paid for by the state.
I could not agree more that Gay and Lesbian couples should be able to provide homes for children in need, and I feel like we are working towards that (not fast enough, I know.) by making G/L marriage legal.
Also DAVID- there are PLENTY of white people (I am white) that have un-wanted children. Please dont turn this into a race issue. It is not best to send a child back to an environment where they are not wanted. Idiot.
I work as a volunteer for CASA ( Court Appointed Special Advocates) which is a wonderful association dedicated to helping children going through the court system. Another worthy cause to donate to with the same intentions.

Maybe they don't need rescuing from hunger and a dirty village, but our parentless kids still need love and a home. And, isn't that really the point in adopting a child?
It's not something I myself can do. I'm struggling to raise two on my own as it is. But I would if I could. I love kids.
