The Disney slut's new record, Breakout, sold 371,000 copies this past week. That's the second biggest debut by a female artist of the year, behind Mariah's first week sales of 463,000 for E=MC2 in April.
Cyrus' last album, Hannah Montana 2 /Meet Miley Cyrus, started at No. 1 last July with 326,000.

Miley Cyrus, with I am sure the savvy of Disney and her dad, have taken it to the stratosphere. Marketing genius of Disney has turned her into a planetary sensation and a money-making machine. So far, she has handled it, with a few exceptions, much better than Britney. So, God love her, let's hope she isn't the up-and-coming Britney clone with 2 rugrats, a sponge husband, a shaved head, a lost way, a cigarette in one hand and a beer in the other, speaking with a false English accent in a couple of years. HOPEFULLY her family has learned the pitfalls of superstardom pressures on a child and have given her better guidance.
I admit I took my daughter and niece to one of the 'Hanna Montana' concerts and it was quite an event….a lot of fun, but certainly not worth the price I paid for the tickets and my ears haven't recovered from the squeals. But….for the girls!!!!! OK!

Give her a break already! She lives at home with Mom and Dad, and works almost around the clock! She does a TV show, a MAJOR tour that looks exhausting jsut watching it, is filming a movie, and recording an album all at the same time. I think she's one of the hardest working girls in show business. When does she even have time to get into trouble? Sure, she has made mistakes with her little photo things, but really, what teenager hasn't done silly stuff like that? It just makes her human. Saying things about drugs, booze, and being a slut are just degrading a 15-year old child. There is nothing out there that says she has done any of these things, and seeing her Mom and listening to her interviews, it's hard for me to believe that she could even get away with that stuff if she wanted to.
