Fergie is very very excited about her latest acting role - as a prostitute!

The singer and former child actress (Kids, Inc) is set to appear in the big-screen adaptation of the Tony-winning musical, Nine.

She's been cast as Saraghina and will perform a song with Daniel Day-Lewis.

Of the role, Fergie says, "She's basically a prostitute on the beach. She introduces him to the world of sexuality. It's a very strong song. I'm just thrilled I get to play a character."

That must be an easy role for her to portray!

Also in the flick will be Kate Hudson, Penelope Cruz, and Nicole Kidman.

We're sure Cruz and Kidman will have some fun chatting about their crazy ex.

As for Fergie, she's said to be back in the studio working on a new album with the Black Eyed Peas. Their first album out in years.

Fergie adds, "It's a new sound. We're going into the future. We're not doing the same old thing. We're not trying to copy what's out there on the radio."

Let's hope it doesn't suck.

      Just where in Fergie's real life is she acting like a whore? She has been dating Josh Duhamel for nearly 4 years and is engaged. Why pick on her for that? The role she has is a fun role and was nominated for a Tony.

      I do not get why you bash her Perez, yet you kiss up to the real whore - Paris Hilton whose claim to fame is being a slut and she has no othe real ability, or Madonna who truly was a pig on stage, and still is a big hypocrite, pretending to be the faithful wife, while doing a married man.
