Howard Wants To Rock!

Howard Stern has decided to get back into films.
This time around, though, he's sticking to producing.
The King of All Media is working on a remake the 1979 film Rock 'n' Roll High School.
The film centers around a group of students who get help from the rock band the Ramones to rebel against the school's principal.
Sounds like an edgier High School Musical!
Alex Winter has been hired to write the script. He's probably best remembered for his 1989 role as Bill in Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure.
Winter says, "I've now done so much stuff in music videos, and the Napster movie, that the chance to bridge music and comedy was something that intrigued me. This movie seemed so ripe for a remake."
As for Stern, he's also remaking the classic 1982 flick Porky's.
That's said to start production in the fall.

Rock & Roll High School is a classic. The Ramons are actually in it…check it out next time it is on cable…It is a bit dated, but funny as hell, maybe for its campyness…Good move Howard!!!

The "Napster" movie? Oh yeah…who could forget that one? What the hell is that? Alex Winter had that tv show a million years ago that was one of the most unfunny things ever. Hope he found a sense of humor since then. God knows he's had plenty of free time to do so.

First they ruined Hairspray by having that loser John Travolta replacing Divine. Now they will ruin Rock N Roll Highschool by finding some losers to replace the Ramones. It saddens me that no one can leave perfect movies alone. Why don't we just redo Grease and have some monkeys act in it.
