Bastard Baby Gets No Love From Daddy

The Charlotte Observer reports that the birth certificate of the bastard child who the National Enquirer claims "is linked" to former Senator John Edwards doesn't identify a father.
The certificate reportedly shows Frances Quinn Hunter was born February 27 to Edwards' alleged mistress, Rielle Hunter, in Santa Barbara, California, more than two months after an Edwards aide, Andrew Young, claimed to be the father.
When the paper asked why no father was listed on the birth certificate, the alleged mistress' attorney said, “A lot of women do that.”
But, the paper pressed on and pointed out that Hunter had publicly revealed the father's identity two months earlier. The attorney responded, “That's a personal matter between them.”
Here's an interesting tidbit to keep in mind.
Apparently, with unmarried couples, California State law requires both parents to sign a “Declaration of Paternity” form prior to the father's name being put on the birth certificate. If the father is not present, his name may be added to the birth certificate at a later date after proper forms are obtained from the Department of Vital Records.
Something smells rotten to us.
Seems to us that the 'cover up' daddy knows that he can't lie on official government documents.

This story seems to be true. Maybe the Obama loving media is scared to report this story about the former potential VP nominee who loves people (ambulance chasing lawyer), green values (check out his house and carbon footprint), who has great values (mistress, child, wife, four legal children).
I read the Charlotte article - he seems to know all the back doors and stair cases for a lot of hotels.

Lisa - it is being reported in the "real " media. Businessweek did a big story on it, and now the Raleigh North Carolina papers are reporting the story about the birth certificate and also because he's hiding from reporters. I have seen television reports on this in Connecticut. The Hartford Courant did a big story.It's getting out there and it's getting bigger.
Who knows? Maybe Elizabeth Edwards knows about all this and is okay with it. They, like mostly all political couples, are together only for show. It is kinda funny how the mainstream media is staying away from this story. John Edwards is no different from all the rest; hungry for power & money, and with that comes larger than life egos.

Maybe the laws have changed since 1981. But on my husband's birth certificate there is no information in the father section because his mother didn't give any and she wasn't forced to give any information to be put on the birth certificate either.
Actually in CA, anyone can be named as daddy on the birth certificate if both parents sign the paperwork. NO DNA is required.

Is there a reason you keep touting this National Inquirer story as if it is likely true? Doesn't the fact that the Inquirer broke the story give you some reservations regarding its veracity. I like your site but this is beyond ridiculous.
It has been reported in the Murdoch owned Times paper, and also in the left leaning Independent.

Not only that… If a man signs the declaration of paternity he becomes responsible for the child FOREVER, EVEN IF DNA LATER PROVES OTHERWISE. Therefor, many unmarried men wait to sign the form, or opt out completely, to prevent being financially responsible for a child that they may not have fathered.

I read that some people think that Mrs Edwards may be ok with Mr Edwards sleeping around while she is sick, I highly doubt that because she held off being seeing a Dr when she discovered a lump in her breast. That tells me she is a loving wife trying to be there for her husband in attempt to run for vice P. If it comes out that this baby is his I think it just might do her in as in passing away.

when i was in the hospital they took my name and the fathers name to send in to the records. however, when we got the birth certificate no baby daddy name on it. in the state of florida. if the mother is not married and the father is present. the fathers name will not be put on the birth certificate. a Declaration of Paternity has to be done.

i work for a social services agency that (under federal mandate) must view the birth certificate of all applicants. i'd say 45% don't have a father listed on the birth certificate. it's very very common.
Would it be too much to ask that sites actually determine who the father is before raking a man and his cancer-stricken wife and family through the mud with vague aspersions and possibly false and potentially liable 'cover-up' claims?
