She is a good DJ. I have been to a party in Boston where she was spinning. She is really passionate about the music and really understands how to mix music and make people feel the music on the dance floor. I spent almost a decade using heroin. Trust me when I say she looks like a junkie. Even taking into account that she's strikingly ugly, nobody has that sort of emaciated frame and sunken features without being on smack, meth or crack. I attended a party once, she was playing there, i saw her messing up with her computer all the time. Then, she touched the record for what they call "backspin" and it looked like she was petting a bird. Seriously. No expertise.
Nobody in the party had high expectations for her set, but a lot of people were disappointed.

I'm so confused as to why this girl is hated and bashed so much here. She's just dating, dj-ing, and living her life. I even understand there are people who don't like her style of dress, but it seems fine enough to me, and as long as I dont have to pay for her clothing far be it from me to determine what's "appropriate" for her to wear. To me she gives the androgynous look popularized in the US by Shane on "The L Word", otherwise the look she's rocking has been done since forever overseas…it's not good or bad, it simply IS. Take it from somone who has been Ding for 21 years, she's not a good one. I've been to many parties she has DJ'd and her selection is not great, not to mention her mixing abilities. A good DJ has the ability to keep the floor packed and have transitions from song to song that get the people even more hyped while dancing while never skipping a beat. I've never seen or heard her do any of it.
Now, I don't hate the girl, I've met her a few times and she is quite pleasant to meet for a short period of time. This is not a hate post. I'm speaking of her professional duties as a DJ. She has built a rep up as a DJ, I just wish I heard what the hype was worth. Like when you hear other DJ's, like AM, or Vice or even her brother Mark, who always has great selection, you hear what the buzz is really about. Good mixing, with good music equals good times. And I know that there are people who don't understand the concept of DJing. People who will say, "I don't care how they bring the song in, as long as it's there, I'm good" and that's fine. But there is an artform to it that has somehow been overlooked. And that is where is gets twisted on what a DJ is.
So that is just 1 DJ's opinion of what you all are commenting on.

Re: joebl – You said aboutt everything I was going to say. I was old school DJ back in the 80's. I had the big "coffin" with the dual turntables and the mixing board in the middle. I lugged it around all over the place to all kinds of gigs. Being a DJ is not hard at all. It's matching beats and rythmn and having good timing. Today's party crowd is so dumbed down and lack any formal musical education. So is the artists they listen to. I believe rap/hip-hop has decayed any form of real music composition and melody.
Even though, Lindsay will dump her for sure, I root for her and Lindsay, but that doesn't mean she is a good DJ. She thinks she is the VERY best, and have been quoted saying "I know i am good!"
