Grey's Anatomy producer/creator Shonda Rhimes is stepping in again to stop rumors that they are getting rid of Katherine Heigl's character, Izzie Stevens.
Recent chatter was that Heigl's character would have a brain tumor, but that's not so says Shonda.
Rhimes say that all medical crisis rumors about Izzie are untrue but to expect some “interesting sparks” between Alex and Izzie in the next season.
As for the other character hookups on the show, Rhimes adds, “It’s really exciting to see what’s going to come next and how [Meredith's] going to deal with living with a boy, and all the things a man like Derek, who has been married and is a grown-up, might expect.”
Oh, and what's gonna happen with the lesbians, Eric and Callie? Rhimes says, “They are definitely on a journey, and it’s going to be a really interesting one…also both actresses are so game; they’re so willing to do something."
Looks like Heigl is staying on the show. And she probably hates that!

I can't wait for season 5 of Grey's, but I'm just hoping she doesn't get off the show. Season 5 looks really interesting. I hope Katherine doesn't encounter any issues because of smoking.
