Funny man Bernie Mac has been admitted to the hospital.
His ailment?
Pneumonia!
Uh oh, "pneumonia" and "exhaustion" and "dehydration" are usual code for DRUGS.
His rep said, "Mr. Mac is responding well to treatment and will be released soon. He asked that his privacy and that of his family is respected while he gets well."
The rep went on to explain that the pneumonia is not related to Mac's diagnosis of sarcoidosis, an autoimmune disease that causes inflammation in organs such as the lungs or lymph nodes.
The Ocean's 13 star has been in remission from sarcoidosis since 2005.
Get well!
Stay off the drugs (if that's what you're doing).

Sarcoidosis is a life threatening condition that usually kills the person with it through pneumonia or other infectious processes secondary to the underlying immune deficiency (hence the phrase used by you "autoimmune") You obviously are uneducated, classless, and will probably laugh at his illness (that is not his fault and has no known cause or cure.)

I have to agree, that was a little uncalled for! I've been hospitalized after a case of pneumonia that turned into pleurisy (inflammation of the lung lining, which is extremely painful and makes it virtually impossible to breathe), and my cousin's been hospitalized and had to have her lungs drained because of pneumonia! Exhaustion may be a b.s. excuse…but the last I checked pneumonia is legit condition. Saying this man is on drugs is wrong.
I have sarcoidosis-it can cause inflammation of the chest wall and lungs, and this in turn can cause fluid to build up and resulting in pneumonia. It doesn't mean drugs Perez. Get your facts straight before slandering people.

Pity to the poor celebrity who actually has pneumonia and needs hospitilization. It IS a real illness that sometimes requires dire medical attention. Sheesh! "Exhaustion" may be a suspect illness, but both pneumonia and dehydration are very real. I've had to be treated in the ER for dehydration once myself. It can be quite serious.

Although alot of times the only reason someone is "exhausted" is cause they are crashing, pneumonia isnt something to take lightly. It can be deadly. I lost my mother to pneumonia, not drugs.
Taking opiate based pain pills supresses your lungs fom releasing fluids and you can get pnuemonia (sp?) from too many pills. I'm just saying…
My dad has neurosarcoidosis, and he had pneumonia this past winter. He almost died because of it! He had a fluid build up on his brain, and sometimes he can't speak! I can't believe you! Oh Perez. I normall love you and your site, but lately I've been a bit irritated with both!…. Pneumonia can be very dangerous… I was hospitalized because of it. It gets kind of scary when you start to cough up blood, no? How is that something to be ignored and written off as "drug-usage"? Give him the benefit of the doubt. Bernie has Sarcoidosis~ Not a drug problem. He has been in denial that this auto immune disease is going to get him. Normally when it flares back up it will go to the lungs and give the illusion that he has pneumonia. He is really sick and if he doesn't get this taken care of it WILL kill him.
