Hope he's not left handed!
Shia LaDouche's injury seems to be more severe than we previously thought.
The Transformers star's lawyer says his left hand was "crushed" in last weekend's accident and runs the risk of infection:
"The force of (the) impact immediately flipped Shia's vehicle over, and, as a result, Shia's left hand was crushed. Shia underwent four hours of surgery on Sunday and has been recovering since then. His doctors remain hopeful that he will fully recover, but due to extensive surgery and the nature of the injuries, there remains a substantial risk of both infection and other complications."
That's not all.
We mentioned last week that Shia might not be to blame for the accident.
His lawyer went on to say, "We have also received information that suggests that the other driver may have been traveling upwards of 50 mph, and that said driver may not have been looking forward at the time of the accident."
A sheriff's mouth piece says, "We have strong evidence that the other driver ran a red light. The case is still under investigation."
This is a lesson for everyone: drinking and driving crushes, y'all!

Making fun of people's clothing is one thing, but your posts have started to become quite vicious and are not necessary. It's almost as if you are secretly hoping for an infection in his hand, and for something bad to happen. He's a kid, he's human, why not try posting something positive, or a wish for his hand to heal. If it weren't for these celebs, you'd have no job. What Perez doesn't tell you (typical one sided media bias) is that Shia was NOT drunk. It figures that he leaves out the big details of the story to make someone that is famous look bad.
Perez, did you actually read what the Sheriff said? You blamed Shia from the start, and no matter what the facts are, you keep going back to it. Personally I would rather listen to the cops who're investigating, not your prejudices. Thank God you didn't become a cop, you'd be railroading people left and right.

It sounds to me as if the docs or his people are trying to say that there is or was a very real possibility he could lose his hand. That's right. Lose it. So he needs to take vitamins, wat right and quit smoking. Smoking gets in the way of healing. I hope he will be OK bcz this is a very hard thing for a young kid to go thru. It might be so bad that he will not be able to use his hand much if at all. I hope he heals properly and doesn't get an infection. The smokinjg will not help him heal, tho. That is a real fact.

Re: M from Toronto – Actually, all of the reports from the night of the accident quoted the LA COuntry Sheriff's office as saying that Shia made an illegal left turn (by turning when he had a red light). Perez reported that, as did hundreds of other news organizations and blogs. On Tuesday, the sheriff's office reversed that first finding, stating that the female driver of the other car ran the red light and plowing into Shia's pickup truck. Perez and all of the others DID mention that change in the official story.

The thing that annoys me are the many fake posts planeted by Endeavor interns and by Shia's PR people that are aimed at convincing the readers here that, just because the other driver got the ciatation, it somehow means that Shia is inocent of the charges as to drive while under the influence or alcohol, drugs, or both. ONLY THE HOSPITAL TESTS WILL TELL US THAT FOR SURE. From what I can tell, no breathalyzer test was done at the scene because the top priority for the cops is to get the injured person to the hospital - they obviously saw his hand, but there could have also been internal injuries.
Re: Anon – This is absolutely correct. Smoking blocks oxygen from getting to the hands and feet, and lack of oxygen in the blood cells definitely slows down the healing processm and gives infections the chance to linger and do further damage.
It's bananas how it was Shia who was drunk, yet it took the other driver to cause the accident.

OMG what a diva!!! Even being seriously injured or not this guy was DRUNK AND DRIVING!!! He needs to shut it and LAPD needs to do something about his DUI… put him in jail for more than a couple of hours or minutes so he learns….
Hand Surgery is not funny. You have a lot of bones, tendons, nerve endings in the hand. It is not "as easy" to fix vs say a Femur. I am sure he had the best surgeons, but even that does not ensure full use of his hand again. He will have arthritis in left hand for the rest of his life. So if he is fault or not his left will never be the same. I hope he can recover and learn a valuble life altering lesson.
seriously perez, i think you MIGHT want to stop focusing on the fact that he supposedly had a few drinks before leaving. there's no blood alcohol tests that confirm if he was in fact drunk, though from the sounds of it he probably only has 2 or 3 drinks and wasn't bad at all. in this case the drinking wasn't the problem, THE OTHER DRIVER WAS JUST A FREAKIN MORON.

The bartender at the Troubador says that Shia was "slamming down one whishey shot after another" and that he was "dancing and acting crazy". Problem is, when was this? 9:00 p.m. or 1:30am, just before last call? (Does anyone out there know what time musical acts at the Troubador play their sets)?

I know that Michael Bay and others say that Shia only had a "few drinks, hours before, and who knows, maybe Shia has a fast metabolism that processes the alcohol quickly, but he still may have been impaired when the other girl drove into him. Even though the girl got the ciatation, Shia still bears the basic responsibility to operate his vehicle in a responsible manner - we all do, in fact. Damn, I wish they'd hurry up with the tests so that we can know what really happened!

everyone that drinks alcohol has at one point driven intoxicated. If you are the one person who hasn't, please write a book and tell people how righteous and perfect you are. No reports say that he was slammed. Unless you were keeping count, don't judge. Bare in mind when the cops arrived he had just emerged from a vehicle that had flipped. His adrenaline levels would've prevented them from determining how intoxicated he was by his antics. It doesn't take this long to test his blood alcohol level. If they were suspicious at the scene, they took it at the hospital, it would've been out by now. (Unless they want to keep this story out for as long as possible & are holding the info for a dramatic effect). The smell on his breath could've been a lingering smell (it doesn't go away quick). Or whose to say that someone didn't spill a drink on him earlier in the night. You don't know.
As far as his injuries, it's extensive enough to include nerve damage that was hopefully repaired.

Re: Shayn – Actually, the intersection of La Brea and Fountain has a camera that would have shown the other driver running the light - the cops probably made an assumption and the camera proved otherwise. This is typical - when a friend was sideswiped on the freeway by a drunk driver, SHE was initially blamed for not being able to stop her car. So you should stop with your equally annoying conspiracy theorizing already.

Re: Mandi – Mandi, although you're basically right about what happened at the accident scene, you seem to be discounting certain provisions of the California DUI laws, especially as they pertain to the concept of COMPARATIVE NEGLIGENCE (Google it). Briefly, comparative negligence means that even though the female driver of the car received the ticket. Mr. LaBeouf could be found to have partial responsibility for the accident.

Why is this? *IF* Mr. LaBeouf was under the influence of alcohol or drugs when the accident occurred (and of course, that is a big 'IF"), he could be found to be responsible for a percentage of the blame for the accident. If there is a lawsuit and counter-suit, the court (either judge or jury) will consider all of the factors involved and will work out the division of responsibility.

Obviously, it will be much better for Mr. LaBeouf if his BAC and drug levels fall below the legal minimums. I'm not taking sides (I have no opinion of Mr. LaBeouf, because I'm not interested in the type of movies he is in).
