Despite being hosted by (or because of?) Miley Cyrus, this year's Teen Choice Awards was up a whopping 73% from last year in the 12-17 age demo. This year’s show aired three weeks earlier than last year, in order to avoid the Olympics and political conventions.
Wowsers!
It also marked the biggest showing in four years in their key 12-17 demo.
We're going to credit the Jonas Brothers and the cast of Gossip Girl for the surge.
We're sure a slew of yougins tuned in to see all the cute boys.
Plus, most kids haven't started school again yet. NOW would be a good time to have the awards show again next year!

Although billions of little kid girls love the Jo Bros, I think a lot of the reason for the tons and tons of kids watching was Miley. Although she's done some pretty boneheaded things, kids still flock to her.
Well, I heard about it because I'm a Miley fan, but the show was good and Miley herself did up the ratings, but so did alot of others, it was just a better, cooler show than previous years. Especially with the ACDC versus M&m Cru, which itself is already huge on youtube. So with all the big stars and dance battle, of course it's ratings were good.
Miley Cyrus is still a skank…i don't think it was her–more like Jonas Bros…did she even do much hosting? I only caught the last half…and i thought the timing for the show was good too.
