The Return Of Metallica

Rockers Metallica are set to come out with a new album. Their first in a long time!
Their last album, St. Anger, was released back in 2003.
And, finally, 5 years later, the band is releasing Death Magnetic ,which was produced by Rick Rubin.
The album will be released by Warner Bros. on September 12th.
The disc will also feature a song titled The Unforgiven III, which is a "sequel" of sorts to 1991's The Unforgiven and 1997's The Unforgiven II.
The first single from Death Magnetic will be The Day That Never Comes, which will have its video debut soon.
As for Metallica, they're currently performing at a few festivals.

Gotta love Metallica. One of the few bands out there with enough gutz to stand up for what was right. Metallica said what pretty much every other musician wanted to say. The music landscape isnt the current wasteland of over production that it is now because of Metallica, it's that way because so few smaller/alternative artists ever get a chance to record their music anymore since illegal downloading makes it non profitable.

Metallica was awesome back in the day, when they did speed metal and lots of drugs. They sucked on their last release… they should just give up the ghost and be like other "classic rock" bands and just tour doing old material and sucking on the teat of their past fame to get them more $$. No young fans will be interested in them, and old fans will just be disappointed.

I used to love Metallica before Llar's bitched and moaned about mp3s. The idiot failed to recognize how Napster actually worked for artists rather than against them. It allowed people who'd never heard music from certain artists a chance to listen to them. Turned me on to a ton of new groups and I went and bought their CDs.

Metallica died when that bus crushed Cliff Burton. He would have never let them put out crap like the last 4 (?) albums (everything since Puppets).
I really loved Metallica back in the day. They used to be very fan-oriented and they would do things like pass beer around to the crowd. At least they did when I saw them in San Francisco. Then whole thing with Lars and Napster happened and their vibe just changed. And I hated the last couple of albums they put out.
As for bands "selling out" and being commercialized, that doesn't really bother me as long as their music is still good and they show some appreciation for us fans.
