Joss Stone has signed on to appear on the upcoming season of the TV show The Tudors.
The Brit singer will play Hnery VIII's fourth wife, Anne of Cleves.
We hope Stone doesn't make a habit of this "acting" thing!

If my history classes serve me right, Anne of Cleves was the wife Henry hated because she was so ugly. I think he compared her looks to a horse.
I like her hair. Mine is pink. I wish I could play Henry the eight's wife. I would cut his fat face into chunks of meat and feed them to the dogs.
Yep, she was the ugly one. So now we know that in this serious, Henry marries Anne Boylen, chops her head off, marries Jane Seymore, she dies, then marries Joss Stone who really probably should be uglied and fattened up to play Anne of Cleves… Lame
If this is true, she won't last long….Anne of Cleves was the most hated of all Henry's wives….also the ugliest. If is said in history that Cromwell was the matchmaker and soon after she arrived at court he was in big trouble. The marriage was annuled as Anne and Henry both said it was never consumated. She became titled, "King's sister" and was put up in a nice house till her death.
I'm currently reading a book on Anne of Cleves and Joss Stone really doesn't seem like the right person to play the role. Hope she can act well enough to put on a German accent…

Oh My god, how insulting to be asked to play the wife that Henry never slept with because not only was she ugly but, in a letter to one of his friends he complained about her smell and horrible skin conditions. LOL!!! Oh Joss……….I mean what can anybody say here to insult you when you've been cast as Ann of Cleaves?!?!?! LOL!!!!
I come to your website about three times a day. I have never really left any comments because as soon as you get to the comment part of the website it is a dog eat dog world. I think the funny thing is that Anne of Cleves was the wife that didn't know what sex was and was so ugly that Henry divorced her immediately. Her career's got to be pretty bad if she'd accept that acting role!!

Haters, specially Perez. The Tudors is a hit show, Joss Stone is talented and gets no bad press anywhere else except here because Tard-ez has it out for her. Just because pot is considered illegal by our hypocrite government but alcohol is legal means nothing…alcohol is far more dangerous.
Again, Perez is not only reaching to make something seem interesting, he's now so backwards that he's dissing people for big successes. PS It's not like the Showtime version is historically accurate so stop pretending to be so outraged…

Anne of Cleves was the wife that Henry said had "horrible and evil smells about her" !! I don't know that I would take this role, even if I were desperate.
Joss Stone's career is not over you idiot! She is one of the few who are really talented! The Tudors is a good show, maybe your little brain can't watch an entire episode cause it's fill with historical references and let's face it you know nothing about history but the rest of us enjoy this very well done show!

Anne of Cleeves was notorious for being ugly. Apparently Henry was repulsed upon marrying her, saying that she "looked like a horse".

um your history is wrong, anne of cleves was not hated because she was ugly she was never hated. it was a short lived marriage between henry and anna because henry wanted looks and anna went on with her life now as the king's sister. it is true that anna was "ugly" because she had pock marks coving her face.

You people need to CRACK A FUCKING BOOK and read some history instead of going off of TV or novels. There isn't any evidence that Anne of Cleves was ugly, stinking, etc. EXCEPT for Henry's excuse for why he was impotent with her. You might consider that it could be because he was old, grossly obese and had an open wound on his leg which drained pus constantly. She was not hated at all. In fact, she was GREATLY loved by the people of England and by Henry's children. It is also said, once the anullment went through on their marriage, Henry liked her also.
Now, about Joss Stone. I would think being hired for a top rated television show would be an indicator that her career is doing pretty well. Why don't you just congratulate her instead of being such a douchebag, Perez. Can't you even TRY to be subtle? Do you even know what the word means?
