And, though the games have been mired in controversy, the sight of countless half-naked menz is enough to temporarily make us forget all the bad and focus on the package good.

Michael Phelps got acclimated to the time change on Tuesday. The U.S. Olympic swimmer practiced at the National Aquatics Center in Beijing.

I've heard from more then one person that Micheal Phelps is a huge asshole. For someone that looks like Dumbo when he doesn't have his cap on he is pretty cocky. I've heard this from someone that goes to the University of Michigan and someone who is very involved in the US swim team.
The facial hair is to create drag…he will shave it off before his event final.

Be that as it may, he is one of the greatest athletes ever in his sport, and to his credit, he has achieved his records cleanly (absolutely no hint of use of banned substances, which is more than you can say for others on the US team).

Plus, NBC is making Mr. Phelps the centerpiece of its first week of Olympics coverage. So OF COURSE the media is going to downplay the negative aspects of Mr. Phelps' lifestyle and actions outside of the pool.
