The Latest Trend In Nips 'n' Tucks

It seems that more people who are slowly aging are opting for surgery to look younger.

According to reports, face lifts are up 14% this year.

Thankfully, people are opting less for that overly-pulled back face lift appearance - think Joan Rivers.

Instead, they're leaning more towards "refilling and resurfacing than cutting and tightening." More like Madonna's fabulous new look.

Plastic surgeon and spokesperson for the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, Dr. Darrick Antell, says "We're seeing a much different approach today. Plastic surgery should whisper, not scream. Today, instead of tightening the neck, there is a resuspending of the muscles in the face."

And according to the doc, the baby boomers seem to be the ones responsible for the rise in surgery after realizing that fillers, such as Juvederm, don't work that well.

Dr. Antell adds, "If you just keep filling up a face with fillers, after awhile you look like the Michelin man or a squirrel with a mouthful of nuts. You actually have to lift the skin up."

Plastic surgeon Dr. David Rosenberg says his main goal is to give a patient "an age appropriate rejuvenation where they look absolutely fabulous for their age."

What's too young to start, bbs????

"It's not as much a pulling back of the skin as it is a muscle correction," says Dr. Rosenberg, "In the cheek, I go under the fat pad and re-support it to a place where it was earlier in time to recreate a younger looking cheek. I go under the muscles along the jawline and neck, and resupport them back to a more youthful position."

And it seems there's a quicker recovery time as well. He adds, "A person looks good at seven days and very good at 14 days."

Would U get a face lift?

Perez is too much of a pussy for that. We don't like pain!

i hate the way some ppl get surgery and it makes them look like a cat or something… natural is the way to go… you always hear about those surgeries where they mess you up.

  2. 2

    MADONNA'S A FUCKTARD!

  3. 3

    nahh

  4. 4

"If" she did get some work done she held out till almost 50! that my friends is impressive!

  5. 5

It's too soon to really comment on if I would or would not get a face lift because I'm 21 and I haven't a wrinkle on the horizon for now… but who knows how I'll feel when I'm in my 40's, considering the pressure put on people socially and professionally to look young and attractive in order to succeed… nobody wants to look tired and decrepit if they can avoid it. If a face lift will lift up my spirits and make me lose the self-consciousness that might hold me back socially and professionally in twenty years, so be it.

  6. 6

I would rather grow old gracefully

  7. 7

yummy. i want a face lift.

  8. 8

yessss, top 10!!…well, probably not once this gets posted….and i would never get a facelift!! but madge looks greattt!

  11. 11

Hey, Mario, are you gonna auction off all that loose skin you have hanging on you, once you're done losing your weight???

  12. 12

no no no, i don't like pain either

  13. 13

Great…now make it affordable for the rest of us!!!!!!

  14. 14

im 16 but with my yo-yo weight my face has suffered already i would consider getting botox done first and if i still need it a face lift

  15. 15

I find they make you look a little abnormal, you can always tell when someone has had one.

I dunno, I'm 22, maybe if I really looked like shit.
My mom is hot, so no worries

  16. 16

I'ed totaly get this kind of sugery when I get older !

  17. 17

I had my nose done without any complications when I turned 18 and it looks great. I dont really care when people have work done…but they need to know when to stop!!!!

  18. 18

i think plastic surgery sucks…people look much better aged naturally than looking like a plastic blow up doll…besides, age lines and what not give you character i think. why not be happy as you are?

  19. 19

I definitely would, as long as it looked natural.

  20. 20

    Re: CHEERBEAR

agreed. When plastic surgery is mentioned they often show the "freaks"
They give it a bad name.
I am all for plastic surgery if it makes someone feel better and, like you said, they know when to stop.

  21. 21

    Awww Madonna looks pretty :)

  22. 22

Hell yes! I'll be getting work done at 35

  23. 23

I'm with you, Perez. I'm too chicken. I can't even tolerate getting a tooth filled. There's no way I'd be able to handle a face lift, boob job or lipo. I guess I'll just have to age gracefully.

Perez…you didn't come up with this story. Give credit where it's due…to NY MAG. You reference the article but don't even mention it in passing. Have you no journalistic ethic?

  25. 25

Re: lunchtableguy – the first time i dont write "First!!" all over the place, i actually get it…. oh well… maybe next time!

  26. 26

What's up with her freakishly wide and extra long right shoulder?

  27. 27

I had a tummy tuck (I have 2 children) and I would do it again in a heartbeat.

  28. 28

    Whatever happened to aging gracefully?
In the long run you don't end up looking like some unnatural freak…

  29. 29

I had a tummy tuck and would do plastic surgery again if I had the money. The pain goes

  30. 30

You are right Perez…If there is one thing everyone is obsessed about in this world is the ability to keep looking young !

  31. 31

    Re: Andy27 – FUCKTARD!

  32. 32

Sure I would get "enhancements" done. But some go way overboard.

  33. 33

I wouldn't want to have my dick in her mouth when those muscles snap back into place.

  34. 34

I have seen to many bad face lifts. Sometimes the muscle tissue becomes damaged and out of place. If something goes wrong then you have to live with it the rest of your fucked up vain life. Vanity, one of life's evils. Growing older is a gift, embrace it!!!

  35. 35

madonna didn't discover this - Meg Ryan (ignore the lips - just compare the face from "You've got mail" to later) and Joan Rivers both were filled in years back.

I suspect Madonna first face lift which was years ago, needed to be redone — she ended up with an odd set of wrinkles going down the side of her face (conter to where a wrinkle would be). It was odd looking — then it went away. Hmmmm . ..

  36. 36

id get a face lift, but not so much as
to make my face look plastic

  37. 37

Nope, no way, no injections, no face lifts, nada, nada, nada,,,,, take me as i am or not at all.
Hey Perez, check out Paris Hiltons commerical…she gets Offshore drilling better than Congress does… really, no joke and it's a riot as well….marci..

  38. 38

Madonnas fab new look????????????????? LOL She looks like someone has put a peg behind her head to hold her face back. Madonna is fucking gross she looks awful. She is old ugly and over keep her off these pages Perez.

  39. 39

i'm 45 and i still look damn good….lol. i may get surgery in the future though, but very subtle.

  40. 40

    I don't like pain either.

  41. 41

Anyone wanting a facelift needs to consider COSMETIC ACUPUNCTURE. It's less invasive, less dangerous and much less expensive. You leave feeling GREAT as a matter of fact.

  42. 42

anyone considering a facelift should first consider COSMETIC ACUPUNCTURE, it's less invasive, less dangerous and far less expensive, and you leave feeling GREAT.

  43. 43

She looks like Wayland & Madam! Look at those cheekbones!

I could see why she would do it she is a performer and you have to look your best for the camera and the people so i could she there would be pressure for her unlike Pricilla she hardly in the public eye. Madonna looks great in the photo i hope she keeps making music and stops worring how she looks 24/7. Damn i want to llok like her when im 50 a hot mom are grandma you go girl.

  46. 46

Fabulous new face! Are they fucking kidding. She looks like Madame from Solid Gold. Pretty frightening.

  47. 47

I get botox every 4-6 months around my eyes and I've had my boobs done. The key is to find a good surgeon or you can end yp looking very freakish. Just like anything, you get what you pay for. Don't think I'll need a face lift; My family ages well.

  48. 48

Once you get Your nose out of Her ass you will read My response…HELL NO!!!

  49. 49

i think she looks amazing, but this needs to be her last surgery. she needs to embrace the fact that she's getting older and show people that you can still be beautiful at any age!

  50. 50

I LOVE Dr. Antell!!!! he always makes the best comments. who else would say:
"If you just keep filling up a face with fillers, after awhile you look like the Michelin man or a squirrel with a mouthful of nuts"
He's doing my boobs next month. I'll let y'all know how they turn out ;)
