The New CSI Honcho???

Film star Laurence Fishburne is reportedly 'close to signing a deal' to join the CSI cast, according to TV Guide.

The show's looking at Fishburne to fill the void that will be left when series vet William Petersen steps down after this season's 10th episode.

Peterson will return for occasional "special" appearances.

      Meh! it's a shame they killed off Liev Schreiber's character, Michael Keppler. He was pretty good on teh show and brought a good story line with him. Now that 3 regular characters are officially off the show and new cast will be brought in I must admit I think my time watching CSI is at a close. Its been on way too long to start adding new folks to the mix. They should just let the show go out with a bang instead of a slow miserable season or two extra death. It would be a shame to see the show go out that way.

      CSI should have never killed off Liev Schieber. His character was so damn good and when they killed him off, I was totally pissed. They could have brought back that character easy.

      With Gary gone, do they need another black man on the show? Ugh. I like Laurence, but Liev would have been better.

      This show rocks! Sad to see Peterson step off-screen, but at least they plan to replace him with someone who can definately pick up the slack! CSI Vegas is definately the best version of CSI out there.

      CSI (all of them) has gotten boring over the last 2 seasons. Still, Grissom was the glue that held the show together and I said I wasn't going to watch this fall anymore. Now that Larry's up, I just might give it a chance. He plays a good detective; just look at Mystic River.

      I have watched CSI since it started. Grissom is my favorite carictor on the show. I nearly shed a tear when I heard that he was leaving the show. Then I got scared at the thought of who they were gonna get to replace him.. This Larry does not sound like a bad idea.. I am excited to see him join the cast.. Can't wait!

      I have lost interest in CSI the past couple years. I think this will be a good thing!! I am surprised that Mr. Fishburne would do a TV series like this?
      He is immensly talented and I thought was just a big screen movie star kinda guy?
      It should pump more good stuff in the show!!

      Well, it looks like CSI will be off of our watch list. The only time that I could watch an entire movie, with him in it, was when I wanted to see Angela Bassett in 'What's Love Got To Do With It'. Oh, well….there will be other shows and/or movies to watch, in that time slot.

      I am a BIG CSI fan!! While Fishburne is a great movie actor, I can't see him being able to fill the void that will be there when William Petersen leaves the show. Have to watch and see I guess.

      Grissom is the man, but the writers were pretty impressive with his last absence. Laurence Fishburne can hold his own, for sure. By the way, the delicious character Lady Heather will be back for a few encores this season. How many of you will tune in just to see the lovely "Lady" hmmm?

      That's a great choice. He gave an Oscar level performance in Fast Break. He is as close to being in William Peterson's league as anybody I can think of in Hollywood. Glad to see top-notch actors willing to do TV.

      Well now that Peterson is gone and **SPOILER ALERT** they killed off Warrick (Gary Dourdan), the show may die a slow and painful death. I love the show and all the off shoots but I don't think it's a good idea for them to get rid of 2 main characters so close to each other. I figure they got rid of Dourdan because of the drug charges and whatnot, but Peterson should stick it out for one more season, maybe him leaving can be the shocker at the end of the season….

      …but then again, what do I know….
