Homophobe and, ironically, mother to a gay son, Oklahoma state representative Sally 'Satan' Kern explained to a Republican club on Tuesday how she, a schoolteacher and minister's wife, became a state representative:
"I expected to run and lose, and then be a better government teacher, but I won. My Lord made it very clear to me that I'm a cultural warrior for Judeo-Christian values."
WTF? Really?

Kern is currently running for a THIRD term.
Her opponent, Democrat Ron Marlett, has said he wants to represent all the district's residents "equally with no discrimination as to race, religion, gender or sexual preference."
Quoting George Washington, Thomas Jefferson and others, Kern said the Founding Fathers expected U.S. government and society to be directed by biblical principles.
"I am not saying everyone has to be Christian; this is not a homogenous nation," Kern said. "What you have to be is someone who believes in a Judeo-Christian ethic, in other words, in knowing there's a right and wrong. Not all lifestyles are equal; not all religions are equal. Was I saying all people are not equal? Heavens no; we were all created equal."
Will the Oklahoma district re-elect a hate monger?

Well,…she is def right on about believing everyone living more ethical. The only thing is whose ethics she is referring to….with a nation of so many religions and ethnic values/principles, you cannot demand only "Judeo-Christian" ethics acceptable. Moral values vary, with people and religions….especially in America. In the Bible belt, of our nation, morals and ethics are much more extreme….as it is not named the "Bible belt" for nothing. So, liberals you need to think liberally when tightening the reigns on people excercising their views and personal ethics/morals. Re: PerezIsRetarded – I think you should do your homework. The founding fathers were God fearing men, but they didn't feel that religion should have anything to do with our laws. That's why the first amendment was instated. Not only does it insure freedom of religion, it also makes it so that Congress can't pass a law favoring any one religion.

Your George Washington quote has never been confirmed and some of your other quotes are questionable. Maybe you need to do your homework. Article VI, section 3 of the Constitution states:…no religious test shall ever be required as a qualification to any office or public trust under the United States.
While some of the founding fathers might have said one thing in conversation, it is clear they intended separation of church and state. Your backwards thoughts will do nothing to propel this country forward. It is ignorance and lack of understanding that people of many faiths and racial backgrounds built this country and made it great. Another interesting fact about Mrs. Sally Kern is that on not one, but two occasions the representative has brought her handgun into our state capital, which would cause a major freak-out if i did it, and on at least one occasion the security guard reportedly gave her the handgun back and she put it into her purse and continued on. How is this legal?
On another note, those of you accusing representative Kern of stereotyping and hating gays should look to yourself and think about how calling Oklahomans ignorant trailer-trash is any different.
