She did it AGAIN!
The smash single of the summer, Katy Perry's I Kissed A Girl, is the #1 song in America once more.
This makes it SEVEN weeks in a row at the top spot!
I Kissed A Girl could end up being the biggest single of the entire year, if it keeps up at this pace.
Other HIGHlights from the Billboard 100:
Rihanna has not one but TWO entries in the top 5, with Disturbia climbing up to #3 and Take A Bow sliding down to #4.
Coldplay are in at #5 with Viva La Vida.
The Jonas Brothers debuted on the top 10 this week with Tonight, bolstered mainly by digital downloads.
And, the Pussycat Dolls came in at #9 with When I Grow Up.

I Kissed A Girl is a good song, but I like 'Hot and Cold' and 'Waking Up in Vegas' much better. People just like 'I Kissed A Girl' because it's controversial.

Honestly, I don't think it's that good of a song.
The lyrics are mediocre, and her voice isn't that catchy either.

I Kissed A Girl is a novelty anthem for teen girls who kiss other girls not because they're genuinely bi-curious, but so that they can impress boys. And, it's not half as good or revolutionary as the song with the same name from 15 years ago.

It's a fun song, but the amount of popularity is a bit ridiculous at this point. It isn't that great, the theme is banking on immature shock value that isn't even edgy, and it's very repetitive. I really don't get it at this point. And she looks a little like Rumer Willis in that picture.

What a great accomplishment!! Katy Perry is a great artist and she definitely deserves this honor.
I love this song as much as the next person but i have to admit I AM getting just a little tired of it. If I were her I would be planning on releasing another single relatively soon. The last thing she needs is for this to be the "one hit" to her wonder….

This song is not a remake of the Jill Sobule track. They are both completely different songs with the same name. Thats the only thing the two tracks have in common.

Re: LoveTheDirty – If you knew much about music - the backbeat and chord progression are the exact same. The premise is the same. Many of the verse beats are the same. Just because you don't use the EXACT same words as someone else - doesn't mean you aren't doing a remake.
