Two Strikes for Shia
Things aren't looking too hot for Shia LaBeouf right about now.
On Tuesday, George Lucas revealed to MTV that Indiana Jones 5 will not revolve around Shia's character (Mutt Williams), as he previously proclaimed.
Asked whether he still considered Mutt Williams a strong enough character to drive an “Indiana Jones” film, Lucas was adamant that Indy just isn’t Indy without Indy. Or, to put it another way: No.
“Indiana Jones is Indiana Jones. Harrison Ford IS Indiana Jones,” Lucas said, dismissively adding about a character he helped create that, “If it was Mutt Williams it would be ‘Mutt Williams and the Search for Elvis’ or something.”
It’s unclear what changed Lucas’s mind about the character.
We wonder if Shia's DUI and recent accident had something to do with it????
Speaking of Shia's accident, Star magazine is reporting that Shia might be facing…gasp..amputation. A source said that he may lose his left pinky finger.
We say, take Star's report with a grain of salt.
But, it is a scary thought!

Well sadly directors have to be prepared for their stars to go downhill these days. I don't think Shia is a bad guy, but look at lindsay and the others… Their films flop because ppl won't support their career.

Don't take it as a stab at Shia, it was a fact. Indiana Jones is Indiana Jones. There is room for a spin off adventure though. Lucas is known for that (proof…bring on The Clone Wars! & Once upon a time there were the Ewok Adventures…etc.).
Don't count out the Adventures of Mutt Williams yet, just don't look for it to be called, "Indiana Jones".
And he's not gonna lose a pinky. His pinky was visible in the first shots of his release and looked just fine.

Mistake on George Lucas's part because Shia is hugely popular.
In all the pictures of the mangled hand the pinky is the only finger that's not wrapped up in the splint and bandages..doesn't seem to be the best choice for amputation.

If you look at the most recent pictures of Shia, you will notice that his pinky finger is the only finger not wrapped up. Hard to believe that if there is issues with that particular finger, doctors would let it hang out there.

Re: Marilyn0603 – Marilyn, the problem s most likely an severe infection of the bone in the finger called Osteomyelitis. Look it up on WebMD or mayoclinic_com to learn more.

The reason they might have to amputate is to keep the infection from spreading to the other (broken) bones in the other fingers. And the reason why it wasn't bandaged in the photos from the hospital courtyard is that the pinky wasn't "crushed" in the accident - the infection got to the pinky via the blood, and the pinky was where it ended up.

Shia is not my favorite Hollywood personality (mostly because of his refusal to seek help for his dependency (and co-dependency) problems), but I sincerely hope that the doctors can use aggressive antibiotic and other remedies without having to resort to amputation.

In the pictures we've seen of Shia "recovering" with a smoke outside the hospital, wasn't his entire left hand/forearm bandaged EXCEPT his pinky? Star is full of it.
