Amanda Lepore has partnered up with CAMP Cosmetics and is releasing a new cosmetics line, Collection Lepore.
This would make Lepore the first ever tranny with her own makeup line.
Lepore's limited-edition cosmetics line will hit boutiques starting in 2009.
Michael Perich, president of CAMP Cosmetics, says "Why have the world's most famous transsexual representing a line of our cosmetics? Why not? Amanda's beauty goes way past gender. She is one of the most glamorous personalities in the art, fashion and gay worlds. Anyone with as much influence in those worlds is just an obvious choice for us!"
Obvious? Maybe for a blow up doll!
A makeup line is a bit of a stretch, but whatevs.
Of the collaboration, Lepore says, "I am thrilled to be working with CAMP Cosmetics! Their products are high-quality with absolutely gorgeous colors. They worked with me for six months developing pigments that I could fall in love with. I think what we came up with is nothing short of spectacular. I know beautiful girls everywhere will want to wear 'Collection Lepore!"

yeah, michael perich, the guy who started CAMP makeup is an asshole. i used to live in glen ellyn and went in there a couple times and was VERY unimpressed with his customer service. he was snobby and really unhelpful, and even at times out right RUDE. too bad because i love makeup and would have dropped a lot of money there as well as referring friends. oh well. his loss. good luck with his new endeavor.

Absolutely not. I'm not a "glamorous" tranny. I'm a real woman and real women don't wear makeup like that. That's just dramatic, tacky, "look at me" makeup that normal people can't get away with and wouldn't want to anyway. Besides this lady maybe be known in the gay/art world, but she's not mainstream and mainstream america wouldn't accept someone like her.
Patricia Field had a transy line of makeup in her boutique in the E. Village back in the day!!! I know cuz she had this purple glitter lipstick I loved to wear to raves!!!!!!

I find it strangely odd how much you people will dog a makeup line that is trying to break outside the mold. Why do we as American's have to criticize something or someone for being different? I think this country is fucked, people should be allowed to be who they want to be! Amanda maybe trans, just like I am, but that shouldnt be a reason to dog a makeup line over one pic! Until you can actually test the makeup you surely cant say shit!!! CAMP is no meaning to Campy makeup, it means something totally different! I would know because all I wear is CAMP! idk i might. i like the colors of "tranny makeup". not neccessarily as much as they put on, but i the bright colors are cool so yea maybe.
So, do we have lipstick that doesn't come off not matter what you suck on? Chip resistant foundation that won't flake or smear during a cat fight? Mascara that will not raccoon. I don't get it… she looked like a "Hot Tranny" without CAMP products, so what makes them special. We want to know the perks of the product, we don't want to see it make a tranny look like a tranny! We want to see make-up that can make Drew Barrymore look like a supermodel!
I already look like a tranny. But I could use some help with my make-up. I wonder if Ms. Lepore worked on some colors for some of us more dark-skinned negresses.

amanda used to work the make-up counter at patricia fields' store in nyc back in da day. when i was a young girl, she would do my face while my mom shopped and would remove it by the time she was finished. she's a real sweetheart!
also, you'd have to see amanda for the crazy hair colors (bright blues, reds, greens) pat fields was the the only place that had them before ricky's and beauty supply stores started carrying them!

I love it, I'd totally test it out, though I've been a Mary Kay girl lately. These ladies know everything to know about makeup! Of course their makeup always looks over done…They're using it as a way to make them look female…that kind of makeup done more demurely on a female could be incredible!

I actually spent many nights with the owner michael perich and let me tell you. He is hung like a Gorilla. No trace of tranny in those pair of jeans. I haven't had time lately to get together with him again, but I hope soon we will hook up again. As for the line. I hope it does well, women will buy it. As for trannies. They are usually broke. meth habit, hormones and such make them get creative and that's why you see the ones at show's in bars with the Wet N Wild collection in full swing.
