He's saying bye bye to Green Bay for good!
Brett Favre has been traded to the New York Jets.
On Wednesday, Favre confirmed that he was considering a move to the Jets or Tampa Bay's Buccaneers:
"We're working on it. Hopefully we can get something resolved. I've been saying that for quite a while now. I don't want to say we're running out of time, but I need to get into a camp somewhere."
Woody Johnson, the Jets' chairman and chief executive officer, said in a statement about Favre, "He represents a significant addition to this franchise and reflects our commitment to putting the best possible product on the field."
The final split between the Packers and Favre became obvious Tuesday night. The Packers' coach told reporters that after extensive conversations with Favre over two days, he had determined that Favre doesn't have the right mind-set to play for the Packers.
We feel bad for you Cheeseheads. You've had to mourn the 'passing' of Favre…twice!
Just for that, we hope y'all get to the Superbowl!

i live in wisconsin and i think that brett favre just needs to retire and stay retire. i love him but now its just gotten to the point where he's annoying.
Brett is a midwestern jerk with attitude, second only to Randy Moss. Good riddance. I'm sure he'll play with the Jets for one year and then retire again and slink back to Sconnie.

I'm from Wisconsin, and have been a life-long Packer fan. Most people were happy that Brett retired on a good note, and we were ready to move on. Unfortunately, I think his reputation has suffered because of this drama. I wish he would have just stayed retired as a Packer so we Wisconsin fans could remember him without any bitterness. I do wish him the best of luck, and I'm just glad he didn't become a Viking!

What's the big deal if he retired and then decided he wanted to come back? He retired. It's not like he quit on us and asked to be traded. He retired, had a change of heart, didn't get welcomed back and did what he had to do. People who are against him and the whole effing packers organization are effing nuts, consider his history, do they honestly think Aaron IS someone? Brett is Brett. Aaron who? It's so funny how Packers fans are quick to forget the things Brett brought to the Packers franchise. Even when the team wasn't doing so great people in Green Bay still adored him. Ted Thompson and Mark Murphy came in and scrambled the team up, and were eager to push Brett out because they didn't want him to have any authority. I think Brett DESERVES to play football and I think that the Packers have lost a GREAT thing by trading him to the Jets. I love the Packers players still there and will support them, but I am a new Jets fan as of today!
