Miley Cyrus wasn't Disney's first choice for the role of Hannah Montana!!!
Singer JoJo told TV's Extra that Disney approached her about the role but turned it down:
"Yeah, they [Disney] offered me the role…[But] it's not really what I see for myself. No regrets. No regrets at all."
No regrets?
Yeah, right!
Hannah Montana would've made her huge!
JoJo currently stars in Lifetime's True Confessions of a Hollywood Starlet in which she plays a hard partying "It" girl who overdoses.
Well, if that's the kind of stuff she wants to be doing, then maybe turning down Hannah Montana was the right thing to do.

I think that artistically, it's better that she didn't do it. I mean, Hannah Montana is a teeny-bopper commercial machine. I have a feeling JoJo probably wants to be known as a "serious" artist. Hannah Montana may bite Miley Cyrus in the ass one day.

I love JoJo, but I really think it was the actress who made the show get where its at now.
I dont really see Hannah Montana, being as huge as it is, with JoJo behind the ropes. I mean, it might have been popular, but not a phenomenon.
Mainly because JoJo was in the scene before now. A CD [I think] and she'd appeared in movies.
Miley was on Doc and Big Fish, but this was her first serious role and she really fought for it. I think Disney did a good job giving it to Miley. I definitely credit the success of it to Miley.
And as much as I hate saying this I also blame the downfall in ratings to her.
Parents went way out of control with the pictures and are banning it from their house.

Why is everyone thinking she must regret it because of all the money Miley has made? That's ridiculous. Jojo might not have made that role as popular as Miley as (we'll never know for sure)…but I'm saying that because I think Jojo is extremely talented. The girl has some pipes on her. You know what though - she is a truly cute and talented young lady with one hell of a voice. I really don't see the need for her to ride the 'Miley Cirus' Disney cookie cutter train. She's got enough talent to make it on her own. 'Aquamarine' is the one movie that doesn't make me want to pull my hair out after my daughter watches it for the 37th time. I think we'll see a lot more of her as she grows up.

Jo Jo is WAAAY more talented than that little whore Cyrus both as an actress AND a singer. She's clearly chosen a more reserved and focused path for her career and her life. She's surely to be more successful and happy in the end. Kudos to her.
