Are you a parent? You have no idea what you're talking about. Stick to what you know. Some kids never take to a bottle, others have one at night for many years after toddlerhood - it is no longer considered a big deal unless you're painfully old fashioned and conservative.

To each his own however . . . ANY pediatrician or dentist will tell you how bad it is for children to still be using a bottle once they've got all their teeth. It's the fastest way to rottsville not to mention the strange shape they may take (like when they suck a paci or their thumb). As far as bed sharing, many studies show that it's a very emotionally healthy way to raise children. As a parent of three teenagers, I know what I'm talking about. I have to say that this is LAZY PARENTING. Suri is raised by nannies all day, on a regular basis. She is most likely closer to them than her own parents. So when the parents make it a publicity stunt to take her out in public, Suri is distressed and the bottle is a comfort to keep her quiet. Being that Tom and Katie have no idea on how to correctly parent, and don't want a screaming tantrum-taking spectacle, they shove a bottle in her mouth.

When a child is perfectly normal develop-mentally and two, three, four years old and older sucking on a pacifier or bottle it is a pretty good indication that their parents are letting them run the show and doesn't want to deal with the less fun part of being a parent.
The same is true with Leah R. (who I personally like a lot) letting her kid wear diapers forever and not teaching her to use the toilet. Potty training and bottle/Binky weaning aren't fun but they are necessary when you raise kids. My son had a bottle till he was 3. When he was 3 he was only using it for naps and bed time. It was a security thing with him. It wasn't hurting his teeth (I had them checked out) and it made him happy. When he was ready we took it away. Not a big deal people!

The American Academy of Pediatrics all recommend that babies loose the bottle before age 2 for than it's a crutch…not to mention that once the baby teeth come is, it's very bad to give a milk or juice bottle ever when napping or sleeping at night. They needed to get her on a binky long ago and then off that around two and a half to three and just in the home and in the car. Maybe it's some strange thing with that religion they practice. I read somewhere that they're not supposed to discipline their children but rather let them express themselves as they please. I raised my own two babies plus 7 step children for 9 years in a second marriage…. between age newborn and 13… two of his and two of mine born in same year, and their mom would have left them in diapers until marriage if she could. I'd train them during the summers at the cape or our own beach and they' d go back to her and be put back in diapers. But then the woman was a bit wacky and that's putting it kindly…. I'm a child development major!!! 2 is a fine age for drinking a bottle. If you think that's the only way she gets food you're wrong. It's more of a comfort thing. It won't hurt them unless they fall asleep with the bottle in their mouth. Two is about the age where she should start to ween off of it as a comfort object, but it's not that crazy that she is still using it.
