Tourists beware!
According to reports Mr. Madonna, Guy Ritchie, is an owner of a pub that likes to overcharge tourists!
Guy owns 20% of The Punchbowl pub (in the fancy pants Mayfair area of London), which is reportedly set to be investigated by London authorities after a Brit media source revealed that pub staff priced drinks differently for 'locals' and tourists.
The pub is also in trouble for not displaying prices for drinks.
The Punchbowl is reportedly a fave of Hollywood stars Robert De Niro, Al Pacino and Barbra Streisand and situated around the corner from the Ciccone-Ritchie London home.
The assistant manager of the Punchbowl denied there was a policy to offer drinks at different prices, "That should not be the case and it won't be the case. As far as I am aware there is no change (in price). There is no difference. There is the old way of doing things and the new way of doing things. Everyone should be paying the same."
Madge and Guy are reportedly looking at plans to turn The Punchbowl into a gastro pub or private members' club.
Hope the investigation doesn't complicate things for the future. There is a chance that the establishment can lose its license for unfair pricing practices!

Ummm I guess I just don't find this surprising. If you have ever been to a bar in New Orleans it is completely normal to have tourist and locals pricing.

That same thing happens in Vegas dude… Pure is supposed to be the best place in Vegas and i personally don't like it at all, it's extremely overpriced, they charged me one night 45 dollars to get in because Wilmer Valderrama and his friends where hanging out at the VIP room… it was 3 am. I didn't want to see Wilmer wasted, I don't care for him but still the gorilla at the door charged us all that money while the other clubs let me in for free and i got to see lots of more interesting people! Also at Pure they don't display the prices… that happens at home too!
Is that really illegal? Here in Hawaii they have "kamaaina" (local) rates too. It's about a 10% discount. Guam was even worse. All the tourist traps were over-priced to begin with & locals got a 30% discount.
i don't necessarily think that's a bad thing….lots of places have local prices as a goodwill/appreciation thing for those who live near.
Most tourist-y places do similar pricing. worst case scenario: you lose tourist business, which if they want it to be private anyhow…somehow i doubt they care too much!
