Why so charity cheapy weepy, Mr. Project Runway?
A new report asserts that Harvey Weinstein may be the least charitable mogul in New York.
Documents show that after legal and accounting expenses factored in, he only gave $64,000 to charities last year.
$64K is a lot of money to us regular folks, but keep in mind that the Weinsteins made $80 million in 1993 when Miramax was sold to Disney and Harvey has a load of pricey property. He's also reportedly 'diversified' into cable channels, magazines, websites, bars, and fashion companies.
Maybe he donated anonymously?
We'll see! Harvey might give more generously in the coming year!
Remember, he's making tons of money off of Project Runway's move to Lifetime — early reports said his company will be getting $1 million per episode at the new network!

I hope his much younger, gold-digging trophy second wife (well, what the hell else would an ex-model stunner see in this overweight, previously divorced greying old fart…?) isn't gonna want a huge payout when their marriage disolves and she goes after some much better looking and younger stud…
Maybe he did donate anonymously. There is nothing worse than a celeb/rich person patting themself on the back squawking about how charitable they are. If they were truely magnanimous they'd just give the money and keep their mouths shut (rather than shamelessly self-promoting).

I really liked him, years ago, when he was a concert organizer in Buffalo NY - he put together really awesome concerts. Sorry to hear this (and all the other not so flattering nonsense) about him since he's moved to Tinseltown.
Until tithing, to ANY organization, becomes mandatory…it's his money, and he can do with it what he wants. There are too many so-called 'charities' where the head honchos draw 4 and 6 figure incomes…which is a helluva lot more than what is being used for those who truly need it.
Do I donate? Yes, I do. But, I give my time and money to those in my community…the volunteer firefighters, the police fund, neighbors (regardless, if I know them personally, or not) who lost their homes and/or possessions (due to fire, flood or theft), and I volunteer for search parties (whether it's handing out the flashlights and water or scouring the woods, myself).
Re: DIJordan – And, by the way…I DO NOT declare my charitable donations, on my income taxes. I consider it an honor, and a privilege, to do what I can, when I can, and for whom I can….my only requisite is that I KNOW, for a fact, that the money is going to whomever needs it…and, NOT paying someone's maid, personal chef or the mortgage on their mansion.
And, since there aren't any mansions, MerryMaids housecleaning service or chefs in my area…my mind is at ease..

Hey Perez, just saying, the Weinstein company isn't that well off right now.. didn't you know? According to multiple reports in Variety, they're re-grouping their company and are in a terrible financial situation.
Harvey is a sociopathic racist pig. No one likes him in the industry because he's a greedy bully. He has good taste in films and music, but other than that, he is a complete waste of space on this planet. I should mention that even though he has good taste with the arts, it doesn't stop him from screwing over the same artists.

How can anyone complain about him donating money! its HIS money he can do w/e he wants with it & at least he was generouse enough to donate the amount that he did! you dont get rich or stay rich by giving it all away. If I was rich I wouldnt feel like I owed anyone anything. I would probably donate to hospitals & childrens foundations + cancer foundations but if anyone started bitching about my generousity saying its not good enough I would stop donating! Well unlike other celebs maybe this guy is donating anonymously like everyone should! I hate celebs who make a big of a deal when they donate to some cause… anyways at least he is not pimpin out his kids!

Will anyone still care about Project Runway by the time it moves to Lifetime? Seriously this season has sucked so far. It's like instead of real talent they chose designers for their poorly contrived "look at me I'm so out there" personalities.
First of all, its his money and he can do whatever he wants with it.
Second of all who are you to judge how much money is appropriately donated from someone?
Should we be estimating YOUR average income and deciding how much money YOU should be donating?

i was completely afraid to read the comments on this section but was glad to see that most people realized its HIS money to do with what he pleases. Most of the time people donate to rid themselves of a guilty mind. If he has no personal qualms with himself and thinks that 65000 a year is more then enough, well who are we to judge.
