Singer/actress JoJo is a little upset by the comments people are saying, calling her a hasbeen.
A hasbeen at 17? Ouch!
Well, JoJo's fighting back - the singer just posted the following message on her official blog.
She says:

Just wanted to check in and write to you a little bit… I hope everyone is having a great summer and makig the most of it! My Lifetime movie "True Confessions of a Hollywood Starlet" comes on tomarrow (Saturday) at 9 pm EST so be sure to check it out! Right now I'm in Atlanta, Georgia right now putting the finishing touches on my album. I am so happy with how its turning out, and so thrilled to have been able to work with the producers and collaborators that I have. Ive never felt more enthusiastic about a project, and I feel like this speaks to where I am in my life as well as lyrically and musically. Its been such an enjoyable process to assemble this record, and I am anxious for you to hear it and see what you think. 
But i've got to be a little vulnerable for a minute…. im a bit frustrated! I'm 17 years old, and I feel that people have tried to dismiss me in the industry or have the sense of "Why hasnt she been doing anything? She must be dead". This is pretty sucky! When people havent heard music from you in quite some time, its understandable that they may want to dismiss you as being "done", and its hard because folks dont get to see what goes on behind the scenes for months, sometimes years to put things together, etc. Im about to be a senior in high school, im dedicated to my education as well as my career so it gets difficult to juggle sometimes, but i feel that anything thats worth it takes work. Bottom line, just because Im not in the spotlight does not mean that ive retired (lol). Im so young, and music is my everything. I view my career as a marathon, not a sprint. And i try to do things based on the long term plan, not for financially motivated reasons. Have I made mistakes? Absolutely. Will I make more? Sure! But will I learn along the way, channel it into my music, chalk it up to experience, and come out stronger from it? You betta believe it 
!
I just want to thank you for sticking by me, waiting it out with me, and growing up with me. Its amazing that I put my first single out when I was 13 and now im just finishing up my third album and Im not even 18 yet! Ive seen so much in a short span of time, and learned to much. Its a blessing, and I promise to not forget it. I vow to put my all into everything that I do and to always represent what I believe in to the fullest. I cant wait for you to read/hear the lyrics to the title track "All I Want is Everything" because it really represents how I feel at this point in my life. I wrote it out of hope, excitement, frustration, and based on my dreams. I think everyone will be able to relate to the feeling. Im anxious for you to see and hear what Ive been working on.

Well. At least she said something. Although, a lot of it was unneeded. Kind of excited about the album! Can't say the same for the Lifetime movie.
Oh, dear. Hopefully, she can make some more money…so that she can buy a new computer. Looks like her spellcheck and punctuation keys (mainly, the apostrophe and comma) aren't working, on the one she is using, now.

Good for her, focusing on her education. That's what these Disney stars should be doing. Not, oh… *taking photos of themselves 1) naked, 2) in wet t-shirts, or 3) in their underoos and sending them to other people.

I don't think she is a hasbeen…it does take months and years to create music as you have witnessed with other artists. She actually has talent give her a break Perez shes not even 18 yet!
She is only 17, she has her whole LIFE ahead of her to make more music and do more things. People calling her a "hasbeen" when is she only 17 is a tad bit harsh, shes not even legal yet! Just give her some time to grow into her own and prove everyone wrong

people try to consider her a hasbeen becuase her first album and hit came out when she was super young. but shes taking time for school, and making sure her music is on point. unlike some stars who try to keep putting out the same stuff at a rapid pace, causing us to get bored and start picking on them (hello, miley cyrus). Even though I'm an 18 year old guy, this girl is no doubt one of the biggest inspirations to me. She is the most talented young lady I have witnessed and cant wait till her new stuff comes out so all u haters can take it back. Im so proud of her for going to college and caring for her education. One of the biggest reasons that i am and always will be a fan of hers is because shes not in it for the money, shes in it because its what she loves. If Jo's reading this, I hope she can realize all the people that do love her, and would take a bullet for her. Keep On Keepin' On babe, I love You!!

Awww, did we hit a nerve with you, concerning spelling, grammar and punctuation? GOOD…then my work here is done. lol Oh, and….no, thanks…I don't need to 'eat shit'. I am quite sufficient in providing groceries and sundries into my pantry, refrigerator and cabinets…without having to 'go fishing' into my toilet bowl.
No, I don't consider celebrity as equaling genius…but, at least, a modicum of knowledge, regarding grammar/spelling/punctuation, would/could never do any harm….especially, if they feel the need to type out their thoughts, for all the World to read. My 13yo son has better social, written and vocal skills, than most of these so-called 'celebrities'.

Seriously, some people are just haters. I don't think Jojo is a hasbeen at all. She has an amazing voice (her talent was obvious even when she was a kid on Kid's Say the Darndest Things). Like she said, things take time. I'm looking forward to her album and even her movie. I grew up watching Lifetime movies, so I never hate when a celebrity I admire chooses to do one.
