Suing His Own Dad

Filed under: Old People > Legal Matters

dreyfuss__opt1.jpg

The shit economy must be hitting him hard!

Actor Richard Dreyfuss is suing his father, who must be very very old by now, and uncle over an $870,000 loan he says was never repaid.

Dreyfuss claims he loaned his pops and uncle the money in 1984 for an interest in a downtown Los Angeles office building.

Now, about 24 years later, Dreyfuss says that loan — and interest — remains unpaid.

Dude, Dick. You gotta nip things in the bud!

It's all about boundaries, right? If you were serious about getting your dinero back, we think you should've put them on a repayment plan!

In a lawsuit filed Friday, the thesp says his uncle, Gilbert Dreyfuss, has repeatedly refused to turn over records that would show its financial status. He also went on to say his uncle and father, Norman, have acted with "fraud" and "malice."

The actor wants repayment of the loan, plus interest and punitive damages.

Beware, y'all!

Mixing business and family is always a tricky thing!

P.S. Hopefully you're not gonna kill your dad over this, douche.

    What a TRAGEDY!

  2. 2

Ummm, maybe he should start working again. It's better to forgive and let it go than to let it tear the family apart. Besides, with how old he is, it looks like his relatives may kick the bucket in the near future.

  3. 3

How is his dad or uncle even alive any more? What the hell?

  4. 4

off topic ::: PEREZIE get your own talk show :) pleeease i would watch it every day.

  5. 5

Why is he a douche for wanting to be paid?! It was a business deal and whether it's family or not, the deal is the same — you loan it with the understanding it's a loan, not a GIFT. Sounds like dad has been plenty shifty.

You're the DOUCHE, Mario. Not Dreyfuss. The man went through rehab and cleaned up his act. He doesn't make a living by calling people NAMES.

    ASSHOLE LOSER

Do you know something in this story that we don't know about??? Why calling him a douche? Why implying this? You are sooo sick P it's not about being a perv now is also about being insensitive and mean to EVERYONE!
Well at least he is not paying 3 bucks per hour to his mom to get his pretty white plain appartment!!!!

Well at least he is not paying 3 bucks per hour to his mom to get his pretty white plain appartment clean because he is sooo fat and so lame that he can't do it himself!!!!

  10. 10

How does that make him a douch? hes NOT wrong!

  11. 11

would you forget u loaned someone a little under 900,000 dollars. I don't care if it was yesterday 84' or 1000 years ago. His family could be shady, and they probably set him off to do this in the first place!

  12. 12

That's some kind of family he got there. They probably borrowed the money thinking Richard is family, he will never demand repayment. I can understnad why he is pissed. 870,000 isn't small change.

His father and uncle must be in their 80s or 90s by now.

  13. 13

money is the root of all evil

  14. 14

haha 13 comments, like anyone cares about this old nobody

  15. 15

Yep, this is the same mentality Perez that caused the housing crisis. People thinking they were too damn good to pay back what they borrowed.
Get real, Perez. You're a dear and all, but it's called life, and if you agree to pay a loan, THEN YOU AGREE TO PAY A LOAN. Bottom line, end of story.

  16. 16

I love how Perez is DEMANDING we have a shit economy and is doing so by PROJECTING it into posts that aren't even relevant.

Just goes to to show certain liberals care more about THEIR SIDE than the country.

Shame on you Perez. If your cause was so just, you'd not have to REVERT to such DISHONESTY.

Just like back right before the 2004 when all the dems suddenly were against Iraq (In like a week's period) right before they were for, tey needed a rally against to win the election! they didn't care that it tore the country apart. Just like they don't care if by them FUDing such "horrible times" does to the country, as long as the "other side" looks bad. *rolleyes* I'll never vote for a side like that.

Re: MeganxLove off topic ::: PEREZIE get your own talk show pleeease i would watch it every day.

It would be great in a way that, whenever he makes retarded comments about politics or the economy, he will get made fun on national television. Here no one really important that is in he know has any clue what verbal masturbation he's spewing in here. LAWL.

  18. 18

I side with Dreyfus on this one. No relative should ever borrow money ($100 or over) without expecting to sign a promissary note. The note serves as a tacit reminder that there is a legal and moral obligation to pay the money back..

  19. 19

A few years ago, I would have said 'forgive and forget', since I had never been in a similar situation.
But, after loaning a sister $2,500 (2 years ago, and haven't been paid back, yet) and having to buy my son a new PSP and DSlite (along with the games and accessories, to go with them), after my brother stole them…I was seriously contemplating filing a lawsuit. But, I realized that it would not solve a damn thing.
So, I decided that I would just chalk it up to being a 'lesson learned', and I refuse to have anything to do with them, any further. They are the ones who are losing out. They will never, ever, have any contact with my son, who is their only nephew…and there aren't any nieces.
The loan, to my sister, I could have forgiven…but, mess with my kid, I just can't.

  20. 20

    Statute of Limitations !!
    Get over it Richard!!!

  21. 21

Re: KevinK – With all due respect….is English your second language? I read the 2nd sentence, of your last comment, 3 times…and I just didn't get your meaning (although, I gathered that you are NOT pro-Perez…which is just fine).
Try using commas, where applicable, a T before the 'he'….and what, exactly, is 'verbal masturbation' and 'LAWL'?
And, just so you know…. responding back and calling me an 'idiot' or any other derogatory term, simply because I asked you a few questions…does NOT invalidate the diploma, degree, knowledge and certificates that I have received.

  22. 22

Maybe his Father ought to send him a bill for the hospital bill when he was born, the food he ate, the medical bills throughout his childhood and the food he ate….bet he'd end up owing more…..What a friggin jerk.

  23. 23

Greed. I'm sure Dreyfuss has plenty of $ and doesn't need the $ he gave his father and uncle. Sad…

  24. 24

um the statue of limitations should kick that one right out of the courts, i mean seriously who lets a loan that big go for that long, and you never lend money to friends or family just gifts, who wants all of that hanging over their head.

  25. 25

Does he REALLY need that money? Because that is such a LOW move…

  26. 26

Maybe this douche is broke, I mean when was the last time he was in a movie, Jaws? Richard you are low if you sue your father at his obvious old age.

  27. 27

I would never sue my family members.. Maybe his father ought to deduct the cost of bringing his back side up in this world.

  28. WTF! says – reply to this

    28

Isn't there a statute of limitations? Even after 7 or 10 years bankruptcies and bad credits fall off or you can have them removed from your credit report.

This is BS. He must be broke.

  29. 29

This rich uckers have nothing better to do than to become more greedy each day. What kind of person does that make you who can sue your own father who brought you to this world and dressed and fed you..

I hope he gets his karma stupid RICHARD
