The Golden Boy Wins First Gold - Sets Another New Record!

Michael Phelps won his first medal of the Olympic Games on Sunday in Beijing.
And, of course, it was Gold!
The U.S. swimmer smashed his own world record, comfortably winning the 400 metres individual medley gold medal in four minutes 03.84 seconds.
This is the first of a potential record-breaking eight gold medals at the Olympics for Phelps.
It was Phelps's seventh career Olympic gold medal and ninth overall as he chases down Mark Spitz's 36-year-old record of seven golds at one Games.
Let's hope he does it all!
He's already made history today.

Wow !! Looks like this boy can really wield a needle. Anyone who breaks a record has to be on some drug. They are competing against records of all the athletes who have been using drugs for two decades. The Olympics should just be degraded to a needle pushing contest. Oh….and what about the IOC lying about demanding that China would allow freedom of the internet and freedom of the press and ease up on human rights to get the Olympics? Never again - corporate shills such as the herpes-spreading Phelps leave me totally tirned-off, no matter how supposedly attractive he is supposed to be (and Herpes Boy is majorly fuggggg - sort-of like a male version of Vanessa Hudgens)!

I look at EVERY clothing and product lable to see where the item was made. I bought a new hair dryer last week, and turned over every box before I found one that was not made in China (made in Costa Rica). The blouse I'm wearing right now was made in the good old U.S.A. Yes, it sometimes costs a little more and takes more effort, but I feel better knowing that I'm not supporting the repressive government in China.

Hi. I read your blog all the time. I am in the entertainment business and more times than not you have the information before anyone. But, all that being said if you continue to post Olympic Results prior to it airing on the LEFT COAST I will have to stop reading until after the Olympics are done. I know a lot of people feel this way. It kind of ruined it for me watching Phelps because i happened to be on your blog when you posted results. It did not air here until three hours later. It does take the excitement away when you know the outcome. Come on from one Cubana to another, wait until it airs. I know you always want to get the scoop, but I know you revere your fans out there. Just think about it.

Re: ladyishe – While I can fully understand your frustration (the tape delays are irritating the hell out of me, also)….your best bet would be to just remain logged off of the internet, until the Olympics are over…since Perez copies and pastes the results from other sites (most of which are hour(s) AFTER the news breaks).
OR, from what I understand…you can access MSNBC.com for current, up-to-date video and result coverage. I haven't had to try it, yet…but, I read the suggestion on Yahoo.

I just turned the Olympics on and the women's Volleyball was in full swing between the Chinese and the Greeks. I just have to say the Chinese lesbians were extremely fierce and I adored their boy haircuts.
