Cheater/liar and former presidential candidate John Edwards has one thing going well for him.
His wife, Elizabeth Edwards, has vowed to stand by him!
Mrs. Edwards, who is battling incurable cancer, has released the following statement, after her husband admitted that he lied to the rest of us about his affair with that videographer whore:
Our family has been through a lot. Some caused by nature, some caused by human weakness, and some most recently caused by the desire for sensationalism and profit without any regard for the human consequences. None of these has been easy. But we have stood with one another through them all. Although John believes he should stand alone and take the consequences of his action now, when the door closes behind him, he has his family waiting for him.
John made a terrible mistake in 2006. The fact that it is a mistake that many others have made before him did not make it any easier for me to hear when he told me what he had done. But he did tell me. And we began a long and painful process in 2006, a process oddly made somewhat easier with my diagnosis in March of 2007. This was our private matter, and I frankly wanted it to be private because as painful as it was I did not want to have to play it out on a public stage as well. Because of a recent string of hurtful and absurd lies in a tabloid publication, because of a picture falsely suggesting that John was spending time with a child it wrongly alleged he had fathered outside our marriage, our private matter could no longer be wholly private. The pain of the long journey since 2006 was about to be renewed.
John has spoken in a long on-camera interview. Admitting one's mistakes is a hard thing for anyone to do. I am proud of the courage John showed by his honesty in the face of shame. The toll on our family of news helicopters over our house and reporters in our driveway is yet unknown. But now the truth is out, and the repair work that began in 2006 will continue. I ask that the public, who expressed concern about the harm John's conduct has done to us, think also about the real harm that the present voyeurism does and give me and my family the privacy we need at this time.
If things were 'over' back in 2006 like Edwards said they were, why the hell was he visiting with his old mistress, Rielle Hunter, now in 2008?
Johnny boy has also said that he's willing to take a paternity test to prove he's not the bastard baby's daddy.
Hunter's family is challenging the former Democratic candidate to follow through with the test.
The mistress' sister said, "Somebody must stand up and defend my sister. I wish that those involved would refrain from bad-mouthing my sister."
Sis also debunked claims that Rielle helped set up the National Enquirer sting at the Beverly Hills Hilton.
We have a feeling that more crazy shiz is about to go down!
And YOU KNOW John hasn't been completely forthcoming in his interviews!

Honestly, is this the most important thing we can be talking about? Surprise, surprise another politician has had an affair. Are you really shocked?! His political career is over, but it probably was when he ran for president the second time and didn't win. Our economy is in the pits. Our state politicians can't figure out how to compromise and get a budget while our state goes down the tubes. Russia is on the verge of war with Georgia and we're worried about this? SILLY. The only people who need to worry about this are him and his wife.

I'm bummed. His family has been through enough with the death of a child and his wife's cancer, plus the scrutiny that they'd gone through with a presidential election. Then he pulls this? How selfish can one person be? He is showing little regard for his family, and I doubt he'd have shown much regard for his fellow americans, either. I was disappointed he dropped out of the presidential race - now I'm relieved.
I have nothing but admiration for Elizabeth Edwards. It's easy to leave your husband, it's stronger to take YOUR vows seriously.

Edwards admitted to not paying the mistress off but said that close friends or associates may have given her hush money without him knowing. Who in the heck says something like that??? GUILTY!

What I think is so hurtful to hear from another woman is that she actually is proud of the cheating partner. I have no idea about what is going on with this cunt and his wife, but there has been a lot written over the past forty years about philandering people of wealth and thus power. The one commonality is that their spouses accepted it in exchange for a piece of that power.

Elizabeth's illness is very sad and I wish her the best with that, but as far as this situation goes, her getting up there with him and helping him lie to people who invested trust in him is a couple of shades into skanky.
Elizabeth Edwards should leave him. Imagine she lost a son- and took hormones to have more children with him. These hormones greatly contribute to breast CA. He cheated while she was in the hospital throwing up on chemo- and she knew he was carrying on. She was helpless- he knew it and he promised it would stop- it did not- and she is terminal- meaning the treatment fro CA which causes so much pain does not stop. She gave her life for him and he was conspiring against her while she was sick and is dying. In NC state law says she can sue Ms. Hunter for criminal conversation with her husband- one of the only states w this law remaining- she should-Edwards is a criminal- how is what he did any different than attempting to kill his wife? He is disgusting. I supported him until this came out. Do you want this as your President?

Politicians who want to sleep with others, and their wives who go with that should just be honest enoughto say that they have an arrangement which effectively invalidates part of their marriage vows, and then let the chips fall where they may.
It's kind of stupid to be married at all if you're going to do that, but the couples obviously find marriage ecenomically & pragmatically to their advantage.
They think being up-front about that will alienate their voter base, but it's just slimy and sick they way they are doing it. People could at least respect their honesty if they were forthright about having "sub clauses" in their marriage.
