Yup, he did it!!!
Michael Phelps won his 3rd Olympic gold medal on Tuesday in Beijing.
The U.S. swimmer took home the top prize in the men's 200 meter freestyle.
AND he set a new world record!
Park Tae-hwan of South Korea took home the silver. And American Peter Vanderkaay earned the bronze.
Phelps is on track to make history and be the first Olympic athlete ever to win 8 gold medals in one Olympic games!
His latest win is Michael's 9th Olympic gold in his career.
At the Beijing games, he's already won three gold medals and set three world records.
He's a beast!

It was a fantastic race! Coughlin, Piersol and Grevers (I hope that I spelled their names right) medalled, also, in their races!!!!! Coughlin and Piersol got the gold…and, Grevers the silver.

Are you on the EAST COAST? West Coast is getting delays on numerous events - there are articles all over the web about it. A lot of fans are unhappy. Certain events are running a three hour delay on the West Coast.

just to let you all know from the east coast of the usa it is 13 hours ahead of beijing so even if you are in cali you will be able to hear about from cnn or sports illustrated online. they are live if you live in the east coast pretty much. he is fast not because of drugs and plus they tested all the athletes before even going to china. he is fast because he has a wingspan of 6'7" and a size 14 feet, and is 6'4" not because if drugs people.

OMG I missed this race live (yea I'm on the East Coast) and had already read this post reading we won but decided to go watch it on the NBC Olympic website and STILL I WAS ABSOLUTELY BREATHLESS! The last stretch was amazing to watch regardless of whether or not it is a surprise so if you get the chance to see this race, I highly recommend doing so.

Of course he is on using illegal stuff- just look at him. They can test him for all the known drugs,but for fck's sake, do you think it's normal for a man to a, win race after race and b, have a face like that? Look at that jawline, he is on hormones just like that French dude-they look the same. sorry, i just realized how bad it looks,and it's hard to read. i was just really mad. i truly believe that he is drug free. if some years down the road we find out that he was using drugs, the whole sport would be pointless. all those records would go down the drain. i don't think the world can handle the idea of the best swimmer using doping/steroids..whatever the hell is out there. i just think there's too much pressure and the u.s. will not allow another scandal like marion…
p.s. the entire weightlifting team from Bulgaria was disqualified for using steroids…the whole team! and i heard that some female swimmer (forgot her name) had a cold and used a medicine that made her test positive for doping and she dropped out…it's so hard to draw the line. non-organic milk has growth hormones (the cows get shots)… wouldn't drinking that make you test positive? does anyone know if there's any exceptions?
Me and my friend Kelly were jumping up and down because we didn't think we were going to make it! We were yelling so loud. He is just the best athlete there is. Not to mention, he's seems very sweet.
