Martha Stewart is trying something new.
Maybe she thinks if she makes fun of herself, others will stop?
Either way, she's added a new "comedy series" to the Fine Living network. Stewart is trying to appeal to a younger audience.
The show, which is titled Whatever, Martha!, will debut on September 16th and will mock clips from her 1990s cooking and craft show.
And Martha likes to keep it all in the family.
The show will feature two co-hosts, one being Martha's daughter, Alexis Stewart. The other is Jennifer Koppelman Hutt, the daughter of the chairman for Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia.
Of the show, Martha says, “They promised not to be mean, and I had to trust them. I’m not going to have a heart attack. I take what I do very seriously, and I think there is a lesson to be learned in every segment. But contrary to popular opinion, I do have a sense of humor.”
Each show will have its own theme, such as “Knitting With Children” and “Painting the Porch” in which Martha wears a "hideous" outfit.
Stewart adds, “I think that 20-somethings and 30-somethings will watch this show and laugh along but still come away learning something. My die-hard fans might get upset. If they do, then they just shouldn’t watch it.”

I don't know how funny that show will be. You know she's gonna cut the kids out of the will if they make too much fun of her. She's got that Mommie Dearest thing about her… But damn, her table settings and cakes are always flawless; can't stand it.

Martha needs to include an episode of Phil Hartman's Saturday Night Live character "The Anal Retentive Chef" on this show. He's a male version of Martha, and terribly funny.
LOVE Martha. Though I have to admit it's a bit strange she'd take this approach…Largely because I've always viewed her as Worlds Biggest Bitch, and take that how you will, but I think it's pretty fucking awesome…and her doing comedy…eh. Not so awesome. BUT! If I had television, I'd watch

(So instead of showing how 'hip' they really are by making fun of 90s Martha, it looks like they're gonna come out looking more like desperate, wannabe-clever dorks.)

yeah martha DOES have die-hard fans!!! look how many showed up to the court when she was getting sentenced with t-shirts and props that said "FREE MARTHA!!" i personally know some peeps who are in love with her… i don't get it though!
I have to defend this show although it hasn't aired yet. I listen to Whatever with Alexis Stewart and Jennifer Koppleman-Hutt and it has to be one of the funniest shows on Sirius. Alexis Stewart has Martha tendencies for sure but at the same time she's so different, and paired with Jennifer they are too funny. Alexis reguarly makes fun of her mother and talks openly about her childhood and some of the odd things she lived with. I am going to give this show a chance these two are irreverent and fabulous. Hopefully everyone else will give it a chance as well.

Martha has a large number of die hard fans. Martha is my Domestic Idol, if you will. She has always had a sense of humor. And to those who say she is a Bi@tch, I'd like to see you build a billion dollar company and be nice 100% of the time. Now, there's a challenge.

My mom is definitely one of those "die hard fans". She has every single issue ever written of Martha Stewart Living. I'm also pretty sure she's seen every episode of her old show.
