Italian clothing designer Roberto Cavalli tells the UK's Observer Food Monthly that Kate Moss does not have "what it takes to be a true star."
He goes on to say he prefers to work with "artists" such as Diddy instead of professional catwalkers because:
"For me, models are just pieces of wood that I carve to make clothes look beautiful. There are thousands of models like all other models. Naomi Campbell is the same way."
He better steer clear of the notorious Naomi!

The models are NOTHING without the designers such as Cavalli. I highly doubt any self respecting model(haha, funny, right?) would dare turn down the opportunity to workwith him, even if he said that to their face.

And designers like Cavalli make clothing that is so loud and gaudy that you can't even wear them outside the boutique - that is unless you want your hot-pink dyed fox coat to be hit by paint when you step out in NY by the animal-rights activists. BTW, you ever wonder why most of his campaigns with models don't show their heads? The answer is because he is too cheap to pay proper advertising rates.

Wow, what stupid thing to say. Then why does he feature Kate Moss in his ads? I get what he means about the clothes, because at the end of the day models are just mannequins. I also understand what he is saying about people like Diddy (whom I hate) as being artists because he creates his own music etc etc. However, models can not just necessarily be replaced. That's why there are only a few top girls who are really good at what they do. Not that it's rocket science or anything but you may not know a good model is good until you see a bad model be bad. There is actually a little more to it.
Every fashion designer thinks of models like that. Mr. Cavalli's just the only one w/ the balls to say it.
He's right. What makes them stick out or have talent? Because they have a pretty face, a stick figure or know how to swing their hips down a freaking catwalk? Sure, it may sell the clothes but what special talent do they have? What will we remember them for and what contributions?
