Forbes just came out with a list of the ten top-earning celebrity chefs.
In the #1 spot is Oprah fave Rachael Ray, who pulls in about $18 million a year.
It pays to be in with the big O!
Here's the rest of the list. The names will be very familiar to all you Food Network junkies:

Gordon owns several restaurants and has like 4 TV shows. How is he "only" making 7.5 mil? I guess you have to whore yourself out with cookbooks, cookware, pet food, etc. to become super rich like Rachael.

At least she makes food that we all have the ingredients for. She doesn't really fit with the others on the list - she is the people's cook, the other people are the rich people's cooks.
Nothing is worse than hearing a recipe and not even knowing what some of the ingredients are never mind actually finding them in a store.

I can't believe Forbes considers Rachael Ray to be a "Chef". She is no chef. She's never worked IN the kitchen. She's worked AROUND the kitchen but never did the jobs that real chefs do. She's a hack, annoying television personality who happens to know how to cook. That doesn't make her a chef.
I just hope Oprah and Gail don't hurt her with their strap-ons. But if it is sore I'll kiss it to make it better.

there's something fundamentally wrong with that…at least half of her 30 minute meals are nasty, and almost all of them require some sort of tweaking to make them palatable. How is she making more money than Wolfgang Puck, that's just wrong!!! And not to mention that Rachel Ray's EVERYWHERE now and even though I'm a nonviolent person, I just wanna slap that fake smile off her face!

What a travisity. She's not even a real chef and her recipes are not consistent in quality. Emiril's recipes are sooo much better, as are Bobby Flay's. I use their recipes a lot in my restaurant and they are always right on target.

This is The United States Forbes is speaking of. Gordon Ramsey is worth more than 67,000,000 pounds in the UK. Jamie Oliver is up there to with more than 55,000,000 pounds. Rachael Ray still has a ways to go yet.

Good point Northdolphin….I didn't even think about the fact that Ramsay is from London, duh!! So he is blowing them all out of the water anyway. And very well deserved! Anthony Bourdain isn't even cheffing anymore, he is an awesome writer (I have all of his books) & is doing his show on the Travel channel. Keep up the good work guys!!
