Tom Cruise was expected to star in the espionage thriller Edwin A. Salt which is to be released in 2010.
But, the Scientology Prince was nixed by producers who reportedly didn't want to cave in to his overpriced salary demands.
Well, it seems the power of Angelina Jolie is greater than that of hasbeen Cruise.
Angie's said to have taken a liking to the project. And we're sure that her role in Wanted which helped the movie earn $132 million didn't hurt in considering her for the role.
In fact, the flick will be redrafted by its screenwriter to fit a female as the lead role just for Jolie.
Angelina would be playing a CIA officer that's accused of being a Russian sleeper spy. She'll have to go on the run long enough to prove she's innocent.
The film will obviously get a new name if she takes the role.
If she decides not to take this role, reports are she's already got another offer lined up and that's to film the drama Atlas Shrugged, adapted from the novel.
She's a busy bee!!!
