Michael Phelps is on a mission - and he's halfway there.
The U.S. swimmer took home his fourth gold medal of the Olympic games, Wednesday in Beijing.
Phelps won the 200-meter butterfly AND he set a new world record!
Laszlo Cseh of Hungary took the silver and Takeshi Matsuda of Japan got the bronze.
Michael is on a mission to break Mark Spitz's record of becoming the athlete to win the most gold medals at one Olympic games.

His win on Wednesday already set a new Olympic record. Michael Phelps is now the Olympic athlete with the most gold medals ever - he has TEN.
The 200-meter butterfly win broke a tie with Mark Spitz, Carl Lewis and two others for most golds.

Phelps could have done better on his 200 fly. his goggles filled up with water. i'm a competitive swimmer and i know for a fact. that puts a dent in ur performance. but still. he is a swimming GOD.
He looks disgusting. Those cramped little teeth in the middle of his mouth leave a huge gap of "no teeth zone" on the sides of his smile. I can safely say his teeth & mouth look just like "Leather Face's" form Texas Chainsaw Massacre.

it is so annoying to me that this article lacks any research. four people were tied for most career, Olympic golds. they all deserve to be mentioned and not by the title of "two others". the four are Mark Spitz, Carl Lewis, Paavo Nurmi and Larysa Latynina. a quick, two second search on google is it took to be factual. it's not like these articles take any time any way, since they are not original or anything.
