Another stupid idea coming to TV!
According to Variety, ABC is turning the book/movie Witches of Eastwick into a TV show pilot.
A lot of you probably weren't even born when Eastwick was released. But it was a GREAT film!
It's basically about three women who turn to witchcraft after losing the men in their lives. They conjure up a devil-like character, who then proceeds to seduce all three of them.
The movie starred Jack Nicholson, Cher, Susan Sarandon and Michelle Pfeiffer.
Will ABC hire the movie cast??? Don't think any of them are very busy these days!
It would be Golden Girls meets Witches of Eastwick! Now that would be interesting.

Hollywood can't come up with an original idea but yet they seem to think they know whats best in running this country….strange!

NO! If this works. It will be a miracle! Witches of Eastwick was an UUHHHHMazing movie! The acting was great by all who were in it which is an accomplishment in itself. Doubt they will rehirer any of the originals. Susan and Michelle are still pretty smoking. Can't say the same for Jack and Cher.

Maybe the show will more closely follow the book. The movie and the book had little to nothing in common. They even mixed up the names, for some reason! But the book IS pretty good, even if John Updike is a mysgonistic creep.

Isn't it going to be kind of hard to censor the original enough to put it into a sitcom???? Besides that Jack is not going to come back so what's the point you can't top that cast. I mean Cher, Susan, and Michelle!!!! I just don't see it!!!

Actually, now that there are only three survivng cast member of Golden Girls, that would be perfect. And that fat old man, Jack Nicholson, would be perfect as the devil who fucks them all. I wanna see Beatrice Arthur going down on Betty White while Jack fucks Betty up the ass with Rue licking his cock.

Fox produced one in 2002 with Marcia Cross, Lori Loughlin and Kelly Rutherford called Eastwick. In 1992 there was a pilot filmed with Ally Walker, Julia Campbell and Catherine Mary Stewart. Also, a series can improve on the movie, the book was much better.
Remmy, in The Witches of Eastwick — all 3 witches has 3 sons after getting impregnated by this devil character …

Perez, for every rehash/remake/reinvention of an "existing property" a screenwriter's kids go hungry. Think about THAT while you're patting the studios on the backs for searching their vaults for cheap, i.e. we already own it, material to re-exploit.
i have the movie at home, and the women don't turn to witchcraft. They appear to have powers, kinda like a special bond, as in one scene when they express their desires to meet the "perfect man" then when nicholson "D" character arrives it's when their powers start to bear fruits. oh whatever, im tired, and i don't wanna see a series based on it, it'll be like charmed which sucked after dougherty left, jejje LOL!

I just recently watched this movie. It did in fact come out before I was born. haha. It was pretty awesome. I think the show COULD be good…or it may just royally suck. we'll see.

I must be old. I LOVE this movie, when it came out…and to this day when it's being played on cable/satellite. But come on, don't ruin a wonderful movie by making it a tv show. I mean…something like that was already out there…"Charmed"
