It looks like former A-lister Tom Cruise might have found something to help him revive his career.
Comedy!
According to the Hollywood Reporter, Tommy Boy is loosely attached to Food Fight, a 'warmhearted comedy' about a snooty New York chef who is forced to cook meals at a school cafeteria.
Is he capitalizing on the positive buzz surrounding his comedic turn in the upcoming Tropic Thunder?
Food Fight is considered a departure for Scientology's poster boy, who's made very few comedies. His last such lead role was in 1996's Jerry Maguire.
Whatevs.
We're sure he'll find a way to eff it all up!

Isn't there something going around saying Angelina Jolie has been given a part originally meant for Tom? I don't think trying comedy is going to help Tom's dead career one whit. Look at his current movie, it's been shelved over and over from being released. Even the Mission Impossible people are looking for other leads. So yeah, Tommy-boy, try looking elsewhere to reinvent yourself, say like be less of a Scientology freak.
That could work, loved his dark comedy in "Magnolia" — he's supposed to be good in "Tropic Thunder" - reinvention is always loved.

When a "serious" actor goes to comedies it just looks like an act of desperation. Like one final attempt to revive their career. But career revivals should never EVER involve comedies!
