Hmmm…..inneresting casting!
According to reports, Billy Bob Thornton has been cast as Freddy Krueger for the Nightmare On Elm Street remake.
The original Freddy, Robert Englund, says he thinks Billy Bob is an "excellent choice" and, "A big budget should mean the film will look a lot better than some of the old movies."
What do y'all think?
He freaks us out as a normal person — we think he's perfect for the role!

Billy Bob may be an excellent choice, but….I don't see why there has to be a remake. The original is not so outdated, so as to warrant one, in my opinion.
ANOTHER remake? Why can't Hollywood come up with some NEW ideas? If they want to do a horror movie, make up a new one! If you want a musical, make up a new one! I'm so tired of this recycling! What's the point? We've already seen these things!

Nightmare is my favorite series from the 80's, and the choice to remake it kills me. This is a horrible idea. It's going to turn out horribly, you all realize this. I think Billy Bob is a horrible choice - there's no way he can remotely recapture the charisma that makes Freddy Krueger such a memorable character.

Poor choice. Lost all credibility in Bad Santa and Bad News Bears. Glad he is in the new Nightmare film as it is going to be a guaranteed flop with his presence in it so wont have to endure any sequels.

For the love of God, hello to the worst thing to happen to the horror genre, and I'm counting this with the making of "When a Stranger Calls" this is horrible! I was upset to hear there was going to be a remake in the first place but to hear Billy Bob Thornton is doing it, I'm sorry but the thought of Billy Bob is awful!

I'm torn on this one. I loooove Billy Bob as an actor but he makes me laugh. He always plays such a jerk and its hilarious. I don't know about him in a scary role. I'd probably be watching and waiting for him to call someone a name.
