These guys were relevant maybe 20+ years ago. Robert Smith is over 50 and he still looks / dresses like that. The Cure would still be good if they weren't living in their heyday of the 80s

  2. 2

    I FUCKING LOVE THIS SONG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
i love them too much :/

  3. 3

    fucking golden per usual.

  4. 4

hmmmmm…. I am the ultimate Cure fan, but I have to say their old stuff is so much better. Still love Robert, though. FORever. :)

  5. 5

    not their best

  6. 6

    yay i love the cure!

  7. 7

This is pretty sweet! I love the new song!! Pretty cool video too!

  11. 11

LOVE THE CURE THEY ARE STILL ROCKIN!

  12. 12

    Ah love the cure!

  13. 13

….. heard of them but kinda scares me

  14. 14

Well, since I have "the cure" tattooed (sp) on my back, I would imagine that I think it is absolutely fucking fantastic!! I love anything and everything by Robert and the boys. So awesome!!!!

  15. 15

Not brilliant, OK, but Robert Smith can gargle snot and sound better than most of the twits you serve up on this site…

  16. 16

man, it sounds EXACTLY like bloodflowers. the entire album. and I mean, I liked bloodflowers enough - maybe someday is a badass song especially - but… to do it again? new stuff, please?
i thought as we grew up we grew up. apparently not. i wish robert smith would just let himself get old… and be badass along the way.

  17. 17

I love The Cure and I love this song!

They were amazing in Denver this year at Red Rocks!! Such a good song!

    Thanks Perez!

    Re: thurrsdayy
    Word!!

  21. 21

    LOOOOOOOOOOOOve The Cure!!!!!!!!!!!!

  22. 22

Not bad, not that good. I've always been neutral to them, and I guess I still am.

  23. 23

Robert Smith is a freakin' legend. I love this new stuff, and of course it resembles some of his old material, but that's okay, since his old stuff is amazing. He's truly an original, and I wouldn't want him any other way.

    24

    the cuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuure (L)

  25. 25

Classic Cure! (He really shouldn't dress that way anymore, though.)

  26. 26

I LOVE the Cure. They will always be amazing.

  27. 27

    I'm back in high school…

  28. 28

    I think it's pretty good.

  29. jflo says – reply to this

    29

They totally lost it, but then again, they lost it a long time ago! But at least Simon still looks HOT!

  30. 30

I adore this song but I feel that they could have put in a little more effort for the video. I dunno. Good song though. :) The Cure rocks my socks but not as much as the Pumpkins.

  31. 31

I have been a Cure fan since I was 12, (I'm now 31) and I'm not really sure how I feel about this song. The last few albums have left me wanting more, but I still, in some way, enjoy them being such a long time fan. Yes, it sounds very much like anything from the last two albums, but I'm excited to hear the rest of the album. I'll always love Robert Smith…forever and ever…sigh…how very "Cure" like of me.

  32. LiiN says – reply to this

    32

LOVE IT! LOVE IT! LOVE IT!

  33. 33

Eeeeeepppp!!! New Cure! Oh my god, I'm such a huge Cure fan! I've seen en sooo many times. The last time I was so dang close to the stage I could see the sweat dripping off Robert's nose. I was one of the younger ones there that I seen (I was 22 at the time). Anyway, The song rocks, heck anything bby the Cure is awesome!!! I'm so excited now!!

  34. 34

Bless their hearts. They were one of my favorite bands in the 80's. Unfortunately, they haven't changed with the times. Poor things are totally stuck where they were. What if we were all like that? I will always love the Cure, but I'd be proud of them if they would do something new, and come up with a new look.

  35. 35

The Cure is just as old as the Rolling Stones this is some old shit that sounds like its from the 90's.

  36. 36

    THE CURE!! ♥
omg i love the cure too much[:
    lol
    & they're still awesome!
    & who cares if he's over 50.
    its ROBERT SMITH!
    :):):):):)XDXDXD

  37. 37

Anything The Cure does ROCKS!!! And for your information AKIFEMSURG, Robert only just turned 49 in April, so he's not over 50!

  38. 38

PERFECTION!!!!! So nice to see them again! I love you Robert!!!

  39. maz says – reply to this

    39

Love it. So much better than that Friday shit they put out a decade ago.

  40. 40

THIS IS GREAT! Robert Smith sounds fab as usual and I can't wait to see what's to come from them this year!

THANK YOU PEREZ for posting this! Please, please, please give us more CURE, Moz, and DM. The BS "music" that is "popular" today is complete garbage and has no substance, and bubble gum "musicians" (who can't even write their own music) can only wish they had as much talent and staying power as Robert and the CURE have in their little fingers!

Robert, sorry you guys canceled SoundStage, HUGE loss for your fans!

  41. 41

love it love it love it….it does sound like another tune, actually it sounds like a few tunes they do….but that's ok, cause I love their sound!!!

I'm so glad they are back!!

  42. 42

I JUST HAD TO HEAR A LITTLE TO KNOW THAT HE HASN'T LOST HIS TALENT

  43. 43

    Oh, I'd still hit it

  44. 44

    old people…

  45. 45

Wow his voice hasn't changed a bit!

  46. 46

    still love them!!!! thanks!!

    CHURCH!

  51. 51

    The Cure is the Best.Band.Evar.

Relevant 20 Years Ago, Legends Now.

  52. 52

It sounds like everything else they have ever done - which is a good thing.

  53. 53

    neato. i love this. :]

  54. 54

    Beautiful as they always are!!!

  55. 55

thank GOD they've gotten over their fluffy happy sounding friday I'm in love bullshit…but if the little pukes of today start calling them emo I'm going to pitch a fit!

    *dies*

  61. 61

    Same sounds, no surprises.

  62. 62

Love it, but hey, I'm 28 so I guess I'm over the hill. Sounds like The Cure, and that's a good thing. Surprised that Robert Smith looks the same, but not put off by it. Happy they're still doing their thing!

  63. mb00 says – reply to this

    63

oh lord, at what age do full grown men (who aren't drag queens) realize that putting on full make-up is just a JOKE?!!! I grew up in the early 80's LOVING the cure, but when I see them now, as old as they are dressing like they're still in their 20s is just embarrassing.

  64. 64

    luv luv luv this song!!!!

  65. 65

Sweet lyrics, but seems humdrum and done before.
I would also love to see Robert Smith update his look. Let's get rid of the sweaty drunken bedhead thing.
Poor Porl is trying too hard to look young and hip with that tatoo on his head. It just makes him look like creepy modern day Uncle Fester.
I will ALWAYS love these guys though, LOVE……..

  66. 66

The Cure is a phenomenal timeless act… Thanks Perez

  67. 67

MMMmmmmm! I love me some retro eighties new wave.

  68. 68

    ***********************************************************************************

  69. 69

I love the song. Sounds good. Robert needs a new get-up, but I'm diggin' the tune.

  70. 70

First time listening to The Cure. I loved it. Even my toddler listened to it till the end. AWSOME!

Re: KayCee – WTF this is soo spam NOTHING TO DO with the Cure NOTHING!!!

  77. 77

Fabulous. Saw them live in May in Vancouver. Great song - departed a bit from the relative doom and gloom of the last album to deliver more of their bouncy, lovely, tingly softer side.

  78. 78

Always loved The Cure, but kinda miss the gloom and doom a bit, but I'll be getting this cd for sure! Always been a fan, always will be a fan!

  79. 79

Fucking great. Lovesit! Much better than some of their old stuff

  80. 80

Re: Akifemsurg – The Cure will NEVER be irrelevant!!!!!

  81. 81

LOVE THE CURE!!! Love the song…and Robert Smith is dead sexxxy

  82. 82

    Wow. I love it !

It's a great song. Though, I have heard better from them.

He wants Russel Brand's hair! pmsl

  83. 83

I love The Cure, and I am loving this song!

  84. zach says – reply to this

    84

The Cure are in that catedory where even semi-dud tracks are listenable… but this is not a dud for sure! It couldn't be filed in with the creme de la creme but it has an easy beat and plaintive tone that evokes nostalgia, longing tinged with just a small edge of angst.
The kind of song that gets in you and dusts off it's own little place to stay — like most of The Cure's music does.

  85. nwanz says – reply to this

    85

Love love love the Cure. Great music, nostalgic and splendid.

  86. 86

OMG!!!!!!What a way to wake me up in the morning. This has so made my day! Time to bring out all my vintage Robert/Cure posters from high school!!! I love you Robert! Missed you!
PS - Akifemsurg - You obviously don't know true talent! Go buy an old cd of thiers and listen to the words, they are so great! Timeless!!!

  87. 87

you know, I love the Cure, and have for decades… but this is such a wining rerun… bring back a lil Pornography… Faith…. Damn, anything but this again.

  88. 88

Robert Smith can do no wrong in my book….

  89. 89

Well the song is cute, Rob and Porl look old and Simon omg seems like he hasn't aged one day. Love them always!

  90. 90

another crap from cure… the last great album was disintegration 1989

  91. 91

It's so nice to see so many of you enjoying this song. And so many of you who still Love The Cure! They are timeless and beautiful.

*Perez, you have really gone up a notch in my book for posting this*

  92. Linny says – reply to this

    92

Love love love it! They are as wonderful now as when I was young and full of goth angst! True talent is timeless.

  93. Linny says – reply to this

    93

This is so much better and more relevant than any of this pop crap being shilled out of every orifice possible.
Where will the Jonas Bros and all these other fake virginal idiots be in 20 years? No will have any idea b/c they will have fallen off the face of the earth but great bands like The Cure will be in the rock and roll hall of fame.

  94. 94

If you show more news items like this instead of the Jonas/Disney Bros, I'd respect you a lot more.

  95. 95

    YIKES!!!!!!!

  96. 96

Yup same ol' same ol' - but it's brilliant and spot on!

  97. 97

    it sucks!!

  98. 98

He needed more keyboard and percussion…..if they did a remix, like they used to do with all of their tracks, eventually, it woudl be much more acceptable by their fans. I want to hear upbeat and danceable The Cure….those slow Caterpillar songs (which this one drags around alot) always remind me of trying to come down from a long trip, lol!! Jaws-a-grindin

  99. NinaB says – reply to this

    99

Re: Andee – well im planning on to :) :):) shes a lucky gal. she put up a facebook album from her tour with them… well, shes in love with the producer… and theyre gonna live happily ever after. and robert smith is most likely gonna be the godfather of their child :) hahahaha

  100. 100

    LOVE IT! :)
