The next season of America's Next Top Model will feature 14 girls competing. But, this time, there will be a twist.
One of the girls was born a boy!
Isis, who is a 22 year old former receptionist, is from Prince George's County, Maryland.
Isis says "My cards were dealt differently." Adding that she identifies herself as "a woman born physically male."
We guarantee you they'll keep her around ’til almost the end. It's about the ratings, after all.
Isis says, "I like to help people, but I'm here to follow my dreams."
GLAAD president Neil Giuliano says this marks "an unprecedented opportunity for a community that is underrepresented on television. We applaud Tyra Banks and The CW for making this historic visibility of transgender people possible."
Well, if they have a transgender, why not have males competing?
Why should the next "Top Model" always be a chick?

Who's to say that they haven't already had a transgendered contestant on before this? Since she wasn't that season's token "issue girl", she probably wouldn't have needed to say anything about it. (And come on…Dominique was way more masculine than the woman in this picture.)

She's already been on Top Model. She was featured in a MSNBC special about trans folk, and she was in the episode on ANTM about homeless youth. Mr. Jay and Tyra both complimented her, and that's probably why they picked her. In the MSNBC special, she says she wants to be a model, actress, or whatever.
I think she's beautiful! She's not outlandishly OMG I'M A TRANNY like (aforementioned) Jeffree Star or folks like that. She looks normal

Hmm… well, I agree with Perez on the statement "if they have a transgender, why not have males competing?" Letting a transgender get on the show is kind of like working the middle ground. Why NOT do both genders? By the way, in the end… ANTM is about beauty … and I gotta say… hands down to Isis… if that's her in the picture, she looks damn good. Hey - could've been a whoooole lot worse!! But I agree.. does schmell a bit like publicity.

that is not a step towards letting males on the show, she is just another female on the show.
