Master P. P. Miller is getting down to business.
In 2009 he is launching a family-friendly cable network called Better Black Television.
The network will provide "positive content for a black and brown culture," according to a company statement.
BBTV will be a jack-of-all-trades general entertainment channel. There'll be scripted and unscripted programming, news, a drama AND a comedy series, movies, animation, sports and entertainment news, children's educational and teen programming, as well as "responsible hip-hop music and videos."
What about irresponsible hip hop????

BBTV advisory board members include Oscar winner Denzel Washington.
The new channel is taking on the black-oriented cable channel BET.
However, the man formerly known as Master P. stressed that he has "a great relationship with BET and MTV" and that he and his son, Lil' Romeo, "will continue to do work with them and support their networks."
He also acknowledged BET founder Bob Johnson.
"I remember him telling me back in the day that if you wanted to know real estate, you've got to hang out with real estate investors. If you wanted to know sports, you've got to hang out with athletes. I wanted to know TV, so I hung out with Bob and learned the TV game from one of the best in the business."
Production on BBTV's programs has begun in California, New York, Louisiana and Florida.

CMT is close enough. Even MTV, VH1, FOX, ABC, NBC, or really every other channel but BET. There is no need for a " white television " network. You dont see minorities of any ethnicity having sticoms on fox or abc its mainly whites. You get a token black, or asian, or even mexican but there never in a majority. uhg ok so I don't really understand the whole BET crap because I am white so apparently its ok for there to be a Black Entertainment Television network but if there was a White Entertainment Network or whatever how much crap would white people get? Why not call it something else at least. I understand you need your outlet because the majority of shows are towards white Americans but I dont think the name is appropriate. An all black television channel and these all black schools is just going to bring us back 60 years, but it seems like they're discriminating against whites now. What makes them so special that they would get their own station? And oh, what would happen if an all white station aired? Actually, why does it matter enough to even PUT your race in the name or description of something? That automatically sets you apart from everyone else in the world. Like in sports shows, when they talk about a really influential coach who happens to be black, they can't even start talking about him without calling attention to his race, "John Doe, the FIRST AFRICAN-AMERICAN coach who…." OK - I get that there is a different cultures between any race. But anyone can create a new network for TV that is for a certain culture and not have it be discriminatory. OKay ignorant people! Get it through your heads…No one said that BET stands for "Only Black People". BET stands for black entertainment. That means that it might entertain mainly black people, but just because you arent black doesnt mean that arent allowed to watch. I know plenty of white people who watch BET. When I flip through alot of channels I see the token minorities playing in there stereotypical roles. Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson (among many others) scream for racial equality and the desire to erase the line that divides the races, but then encourage and promote "Black Only" programs that continue to redraw that line. I am all for equal rights. People should be treated equally regardless of the color of their skin… But these "activists" and promoters of "black TV, black college, black whatever" are aiming to make the black community BETTER, not equal… Which will never happen when there are so many of them (don't get on me for saying ALL of them, because I'm not) who continually break the law (DMX anyone?) and live off of welfare.

As far as college scholarships, yes, there are MULTIPLE types. You can get one for having red hair. My problem is with the Black Colleges. Sure, you don't HAVE to be black to go there as they wouldnt have to be white to go anywhere else… the difference is, if a black person goes to a regular old university, no big deal, a white person goes to a black college?
