Some people take their music seriously.
So seriously, they're willing to take the potential next President of the United States to court!
Jackson Browne doesn't want Presidential hopeful John McCain using his lyrics and music for any promotional ads.
The 59 year-old singer and songwriter has sued McCain and the Ohio and national Republican committees in U.S. District Court in Los Angeles.
Browne accused them of using his song Running on Empty without his permission.
His lawsuit goes on to claim that the use of his song is an infringement of his copyright. Furthermore, he's worried it'll lead people to believe he's endorsing McCain, something he openly doesn't do as he's know for being a lifelong liberal.
Robert Bennett, who's the chairman of the Ohio party, has confirmed that the ad was pulled when Browne objected and called the lawsuit a "big to-do about nothing."
The suit also claims that other musicians have asked McCain to stop using their work, such as ABBA and John Mellencamp.
And, according to Browne, his reputation has already been damaged, so in return he's seeking $75,000 in damages.

Probably the same place I've been. Listening to politicians exaggerate and flip flop and care more about their party than the country the past few decades.
Ever since that whole "Bush stole the presidency" bullshit the left started because they were sore losers (Even though it has been discredited multiple times, there are people out there that still act like it's factual)
I also remember when the 2004 election season was about to start, a whole SLEW of senators and lefties turn about face and claim Bush lied about Iraq when they themselves said the same things, and even voted for the same reasons. It was purely a political smear worrying more about their team, than how they were further splitting the country in two.
Having said that, I am no Bush lover, but I am also not a leftwing moonbat either.
Political zealots on BOTH sides need to STFU and read a book.
I do remember in the 90s how our country was attacked by several terrorists (Some from our own country because of actions our own gov committed aka Ruby Ridge) and nothing was done about it. And how Bill "balanced the budget" by cutting military and defense and intelligence spending in half at a time when terrorists were trying to blow us up. (The WTC bombing is was still from the Clinton era way of doing things) I don't recall us getting hit since.
So yah, I've been around 8 years. Instead of being unrealistic about how life SHOULD BE. I understand how life IS.
