Ouch!
Three of tennis' big names are out of the Olympics!
Switzerland's Roger Federer lost to American James Blake in the quarterfinals on Thursday.
American Serena Williams lost her quarterfinal match at the Olympics to Elena Dementieva of Russia.
And, the other Williams, Venus, lost in the quarters as well to Li Na of China.
Thank goodness Spain's Raffa Nadal is still standing!
Darn. We really wanted to see him face Federer again!
Hey, at least Michael Phelps hasn't disappointed in the swimming department!

For me, it's never about disappointment. These athletes made it to the top of the world in their sports. It's the best competing against the best. I'm happy for all those who were outstanding enough to be able to compete.

Roger is my other favorite player, but 2008 has not been his year. i was sorry he lost, but was ok with it cuz it was to our american, james blake (who was later ripped off when his opponent did not speak up about the ball hitting his racquet). Rafa vs. Gonzalez is going to be HUGE. don't miss it tonight!

There are no pros and no-pros in tennis. Everyone is allowed to qualify for the Olympics (it's no figure skating). Venus sisters simply did not qualify for the semi-final at the Olympics.
