      I just have to ask….what is so great about Amy Winehouse? I admit that I have NEVER heard her sing. I even asked my teen-aged son, if he had ever heard of her, or if she is popular amongst the other kids (at his school)….he had no idea who I was talking about. I realize that she may just be popular, according to demographics (I live in Wisconsin), but…he has heard of just about every other artist/performer (even ones that I haven't)…but, Amy is not one of them.
      I am not trying to be sarcastic or snide….I would really like to know.

      Re: DIJordan – I dont know about where you live but she is HUGE in the UK and she is absolutely amazing. Look up her performances on youtube if you want because trust me, she is well worth all the hype and more

      My question, basically, stemmed from the fact that this area has heard about other foreign 'imports', such as Tokio Hotel, which is a 'less hyped about' German band, but most have never heard about Amy Winehouse, who seems to be the talk of the UK (unless the residents frequent the websites and tabloid rags).
      I thank you for your kind suggestion. I will have to give her a listen, even though I will probably have to special order her CD's, if I like them, since she doesn't seem to have quite the following, here…to warrant the stores to stock them.

      NOT EVEN CLOSE! Magda's obsession was tanning - other than that she was a nice person..if a bit eccentric.
      Amy Winehouse is a walking disaster. She can't function without her vices - of which there are MANY smoking and drinking are only the legal ones she does to excess - who knows if she is also on crack, meth, or whatever - let alone yearning for that dipshit of a boyfriend "Blake Incarcerated".
      Amy was amazingly talented…I will give her that - but I would like to smack her upside the head and give her a piece of my mind for throwing it all away as she has done. I don't know of many people that actally take her seriously anymore. She needs to be thrown in Rehab for a LONG time…she's an out of control mess!

      Hey there DI Jordan - I discovered her throught YouTube as well. I had seen all the hype about her and wanted to know what her music was like, and I was hooked! She writes amazing lyrics and the music is kind of a souly jazz. I love "Tears Dry on their own" - she has many good songs.
      You will notice like anyone else that loves her music, that she looked SO much better before she started with the beehive and the tattoos…but that is just my opinion. She was so cute before, and now is just a shell of her former self, unfortunately. I hope she pulls herself out of the gutter…or that her family or her record label has the wherewithall to do something before she kills herself with the drugs.
