Does 90210 (2.0) Suck????

Filed under: TV News > 90210

newcast__opt.jpg

The CW released a statement on Monday announcing that they won't be sending critics any advance screeners to review of their special premiere of the new 90210.

In other words, the two-hour premiere will not be seen by anyone beforehand.

The show must suck if they're not giving out screeners for reviews.

That's a bad sign!

The statement read, “The CW and our studio partner CBS Paramount Network Television have made the strategic marketing decision not to screen ‘90210’ for any media in advance of its premiere."

And they seemed to want to emphasize the following, "We're not hiding anything . . . simply keeping a lid on 90210 until 9.02, riding the curiosity and anticipation into premiere night, and letting all our constituents see it at the same time.”

Or could they just be hiding that it sucks?

Either way, we'll be tuning in to watch the premier.

It better not suck!

of course it's going to suck! this is just a warmed over piece of turd where they are trying to disguise the mold growing on it by spray painting it brown. Only queers would watch the premiere….oops, then I guess that's why you are going to watch it Malario. :)

The first one sucked, this one looks worse.

  10. 10

it's prob something along the lines of
Gossip Girl + Degrassi + The Hills? Hah,
of course i'll watch the 1st episode, but unless
    the show's, like, amazing, i won't watch a second time ;D

  11. 11

    How could it not suck?

  12. 12

A sequel of a television series should be awesome!

  13. 13

Does anyone expect this to actually be a good show? Entertaining, no doubt! Of substance…NO
    !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
    NOOOOO GOOOOOOOOOD

  14. 14

Of course it is going to suck! You seem to be one of the few people excited about this piece of crap!

  15. 15

The first one sucked, so it only stands to reason!

  16. 16

Of course it's going to suck, it's 90210

  17. 17

It's gar-n-ted to blow as do 98% of spinoffs of the originals I think they are making a big mistake by not hiring Tori Spelling, not that she made the show but she was an intergral part of it and the storyline focused around her in the end. It's not like she was trying to be a diva, she wanted what she deserved, what Shannon and Jennie were offered. Why was Shannon offered so much when she left the show midway through. She should have been offered a lower salary, not Tori. But it doesn't matter, Tori and Dean will be sitting on the couch laughing their asses off when it's cancelled. Probably a bad career move.
The show is going to tank because the other was so good and so widely popular. It will be nearly impossible to get the audience back, especially with no critic to go by. And Life of an American Teenager is so good.

  18. 18

    I won't be watching it. I don't really like Shenae Grimes…enough said.

  19. 19

    ahha
it better not suck or I will be mad!

  20. 20

    ahha
it better not suck or I will be mad!
    aha.
I personally loved the original 90210 and I actually think the remake is a stupid idea cause you can't ever compare to the first…

  21. 21

    hmmm
I'll give one episode a chance

  22. 22

i think they are just trying to keep the buzz going so people will tune in and watch…i know i will!!! TEAM BRENDA!!!!

  23. 23

    It will.

    I garan-damn-tee it!!

  24. 24

i'm totally going to watch! but yah, i hope it doesn't suck or i'm going to be really disappointed.

  25. 25

I'll be tuning in, but if it's not good, I won't keep watching. The original 90210 was my favorite show ever, and the high school years were the best. Nothing could be as good, but if the new show is complete crap, I won't put myself through with watching it.

    26

i love the original, i watch it all the time, but i am NOT looking forward to the new one.

  27. 27

Would it really surprise anyone if it did suck?

  28. 28

Maybe THAT is why Tori is not doing it. Perhaps she knows it is going to SUCK donkey balls.

  29. 29

LOL, it would be surprising if it didn't suck! Seriously, how are they going to pull of the "bad boy" and vixen thing anymore? They aren't boys no mores.

  30. 30

2 hours? How long into that before the ONE black guy get busted by the cops for walking while black or driving while black?
I mean really, what else is the point of having ONE black guy on the show among all those white people unless he can go up against the cops…unless they also make him gay, then I guess he can cover two stereoptypes at the same time.

  31. 31

I rather be watching the "BIG ROLLING TURD" roll down the street.

  32. 32

The New 90210 Is Going To Be Awesome!!!!
with the writers of the old show, a hot, sexy young cast, and the return of brenda!, theres no way it can't be anything less than amazing.
Poeple hate on anything that's sucessfull

  33. 33

It seems destined for doom, but hey, Degrassi produced a wildly successful spin-off/continuation series in much the same fashion! We'll see…

  34. 34

if donna martin doesn't graduate it will sooooooooo suck

    35

    obvi it will suck.

  36. 36

i will def watch this it looks really good

  37. 37

Now come on, did you really thing this show was going to be good? This is like trying to bring back Hawaii 5.0. It will be a trainwreck. These people had success at a time when TV was the only outlet and technology was only to a few. Also long before A.D.D.

  38. 38

Well, YEAH, of course it sucks!! The first one was silly (but loved)… to make a 2.0 is just ridiculous. The novelty of bringing back Kelly and Brenda would be the only reason to glimpse it… and to tell you the truth, I am not really curious where those characters landed :p I like remembering the show from my youth.

omg it's gonna suck so bad!
    sooo dumb

  40. 40

Egh Im not looking forward to this new one.. I like the old one.. and I hate when they try and remake things…

    I want the OC back..

  41. 41

Of course it's going to suck. The original sucked, so why should this be any different?

  42. 42

GUESS WHAT??? Kids now-a-days under 25 yrs old have no freaken idea what the hell BH 90210 even was! So this whole new series should just be called something else. I think it's funny how Tori, Shannen and Jennie think anyone their age is going to watch it. And where's Gabrielle? They need to do that scene from Family Guy where she's really really old and goes into the Peach Pit talking about Barbara Stanwick. Only over 30-Somethings get that joke. Being old is funny sometimes.

  43. 43

of course it's going to suck! r u kidding me? y would any 1 waste their time watching? +, t won't be on the show so who cares about it anymore. yawn…

  44. 44

Who cares if it sucks? It's not like we've had a shitload of great TV anyway, so why bother getting your hopes up?

  45. skin& says – reply to this
    45

i don't think it's going to suck. i think they just want to make the hype even more anticipating, probably so they will get more viewers. but who knows, maybe it does blow.

  46. 46

I am sure it will suck!

  47. 47

    Re: KrystynaS
    dude SERIOUSLY.
the O.C was amazing , I miss that show so much.
and even though i love gossip girl , and 90210 may not blow (although I think it will) nothing can ever compare..

  48. 48

Or, maybe it's a blanket protection against unscrupulous bloggers and other self-serving Americans, who can't be trusted to respect copyrights on their own; kinda like how you can't trust a child with book of matches.
    :l

  49. 49

I didn't watch the first one and I won't tune in for the second.

  50. 50

i don't know. i'm tired of all these "mirrored reality" tv shows — degrassi (which i used to love, until now they're putting in new, stupid faces), the hills, the oc…. they are all the same. text message break up, cheating, pregnancies (sp), aboritions… a best friend back stabs them…. the cheesy love triangle and the highschool sweethearts…… we see it go on in our every day life…. so what's the difference with a million more faces of famous people? i mean, how many people want to actually watch someone go through a drug abuse, then watch it again (if they watch the show), just with a celebrity? i don' tknow… i may be just rambling, but hey… for all those who get what i'm saying…. it makes sense.

  51. 51

I will watch the first episode out of curiosity just for Shannen Doherty. Remakes are never that good. I grew up watching the original Degrassi and it kicked ass on the Next Generation. The original was grainy and they used real kids, not actors. Anyway, I used to love 90210, but now I can't even watch the reruns. It is funny though how much these teen shows have changed. It was a big deal for Brenda to go all the way w/Dylan. Now on GG and the OC, everyone is doing everyone from the first episode.

  52. 52

You know they all got together in their big "Beverly Hills Office" and decided to keep all the kids just starting school, the mommies ( and some daddys) waiting in curiosity over the show. With a show with this amount of hype, the nervousness of not being granted show ideas of the king of the original night time soap Aaron Spelling Deceased, their next most logical move, and protection for their ratings was, to hold the screenings. Its like the Superbowl… Critics are not privy to advanced screenings for it- even though they know there is a football game to be played, and that "this" musician will be performing at halftime. We all know that the BIG thing everyone is buzzing about the next day over morning coffee at the office, or, in this case, retrieving books from their locker will be how the first show was a SUPRISE because of this moment and that moment— So, dont worry Perez, I have a feeling that however the first episode turns out, it is sure to throw in every shocking trick in the book!

  53. 53

Dumb white motherfuckers. Oh, wait! ONE black dude, just to stir up a little racial harmony jambalaya.
