Sweet dreams are not made of back pain!
Former Eurythmics singer Annie Lennox is recovering from spinal surgery after being forced by a back injury to return home early from an AIDS conference in Mexico, according to the singer's official website on Monday.
Surgeons operated on Annie at a London hospital over the weekend to release a trapped nerve in her back that was affecting her left leg.
Sounds painful!
The surgery went as planned, and Annie is now recuperating at home.
The site goes on to say that Annie would like to send her thanks and appreciation to all that have sent their well wishes in the past few days.
The injury has also forced Lennox to cancel her appearance on Wednesday at the Edinburgh Festival of Politics where she was due to talk about her AIDS awareness campaign, SING.

Annie is a very strong person. Having suffered giving birth to a still-born baby son (she's since had two healthy children), a painful divorce and having a successful 30 year music career, I think this is just something she knew had to be done as soon as possible and she will recover. As soon as she's okay to go - she will pull through and be right as rain before too long. NOTHING stops Annie from doing things she feels strongly about, I love her and have been a big fan since I was a kid when she was in The Eurythmics.

Annie Lennox is one of the only TRUE artists we have left these days, as well as someone very, very genuine. She is a treasure. I have met her at least 6 times in the last 16 years and she was always beautiful and gracious. Every time! Lovely lady.
