what's that line…"and when he get's rich he leave your ass for a white girl." That may be a butchery of the actual line, but the sentiment is the same. This is my number one Black man pet peeve…when they seperate and class women. It's not just degrading to black women, it's degrading to all women.
Kanye never minces his words, so I would never expect him to sugar coat his sentiments…but "favorite white girl" is a loaded statement that lets us know he catagorizes us and it may have to do with race…looking at his site I'd ask where do Black girls fall in this category?…0.

I agree and I would go as far to say that Kanye considers his love of white beauty ideals makes him superior to Black people. His tip has lately been conforming his style to what is hot in Europe (the fashion, the women, the visual art). Broadening his horizons can help make him more well rounded, but it seems that many successful Black men are acheiving the White dream, and if they can't get a White woman, they will get a Blackish girl who does a good imitation(Beyonce, kimora lee and etc). I believe in interacial relationships, but I don't believe in telling off George Bush one day , and then basking in the glow of white acceptance the next.

Look at the blog, there are already black girls complaining that he doesn't like them. Scarlett maybe his overall favorite crush, but he can't say it because blacks (black women) might get mad, so he tossed the "white girl" part in, because it suggests she's not his ultimate crush, just his 'white' crush. I don't care if he likes Scarlett or white girls. I am not insecure. Sadly, many black girls are. And Weepy X girlfriend, one white person (George Bush) doesn't represent all white people. Criticizing Bush has nothing to do with "white acceptance," which is the very ignorant term you used to classify someone who is branching out culturally, by educating himself about the world. You missed the point yadayada. I think Kanye West made a very strong point in calling out the American Government on their racist policies that left the victims of Katrina floundering…that being said, I look at his blog and there are no women like his own mother…instead he has what is very typical of a succesful Black male…the evidence of Eurocentric taste. I said above that there is nothing wrong with drawing influence from others, but I feel that he has abandoned Black women for the more commercialy and fiancialy viable White culture.

In hindsight, I wasn't so balanced with what I was saying…I was touchy, and maybe unfair to Kanye. I don't know who he really is, and honestly, I am making judgments based on what his blog and videos reflect. I suppose he, like everybody else isn't obligated to conform to a specific idea of who and what it is to be Black…perhaps I should have just left it to my shaky feelings about his continued objectifying of Women and left race out of it. I still feel it would be nice to have a Black male who is has a voice to young Black men who enjoys and celebrates what is beautiful about a Black woman..or any other woman really, that has nothing to do with a weave, light skin, a small nose, or a frightening lack of body fat except where she purchases it. There is no escaping that hip hop has dissed Black women consistantly, but I'm not sure Kanye's the guy who has to answer for it.
