Actors Infighting: East Coast vs. West Coast!

The media moguls must be loving it!
According to new reports, tensions within the Screen Actors Guild mounted on Monday as the union's Hollywood-based leaders rejected a call by SAG's New York branch to bring in a federal mediator to break a deadlock in contract talks with the major studios.
The NY delegation publicly challenged the claims of SAG president Alan Rosenberg and chief negotiator Doug Allen that the union is holding informal talks with studio representatives in a bid to close a deal.
They also accused the Hollywood leadership of "failing to bargain realistically … and remove unattainable items from the table."
The latest exchange between the West and East coast boards highlights the ever growing internal split over the seven-week-old contract stalemate.
See what happens when you get drama queens to do business?
At the end of the day we have a feeling that actors will get screwed by big biz.
Way to go, SAG!

Re: DMAN –
You don't think anyone cares?! Do you have ANY idea how many biz people read Perez? This is a big deal. We're still smarting from the WGA strike. The studios are punishing writers by recycling every old property in their vaults so they don't have to pay to acquire new material. Watch out, actors, strike and you can look forward to about a billion non-union "reality" shows and nothing but animation. Even when a Guild wins a labor dispute the studios have ways of messing with them.
Personally, I couldn't care less.
Re: DaLa – I am as pro-union as they come…but, come on. "Still smarting from the WGA strike"?? Try being an ACTUAL union worker, like my late hubby was (he was a redi-mix driver)…with the threat of not being paid a full wage, no insurance (for self or family), a mortgage to pay and a family to feed and support, EVERY GODDAMN TIME contract negotiations came up.
Do I feel sorry for writers, actors and actresses? No. They can take a years worth of paychecks, invest them wisely…and live off of the interest. The rest of us, paeans, rely on those checks for day to day living.
Where'e Tupac and Notorious BIG when you need them?
