Clue Has Been Updated!

One of our favorite board games has just been 'modernized'!
In the new version of Clue, your favorite characters have had a little work done.
Their last names remain the same, but their first names and bios have been updated.
For example, Miss Scarlet is now Kasandra Scarlet, a famous actress often featured in tabloids. And Mr. Green is now Jacob Green, an African-American "with all the ins."
Colonel Mustard is now Jack Mustard, a former football player. And, the Professor is now Victor Plum, a billionaire video game designer.
Each character also now has a special power that could help players discover clues more quickly.
Special powers???? WTF???
Clue gets superhero!
Game maker Hasbro has also added more 'weapons', up from six to nine.
The candlestick, knife and rope remain, but now weapon choices include a dumbbell, trophy or poison.
The lead pipe, revolver and wrench are no longer part of the game.
New rooms have been included as well. There's now a theater, spa and guest house nearby.

They should leave a classic exactly what it is (was) - a classic. This all seems to gimmicky. Also, what's the deal with all these product-endorsement blogs? First the Sopranos DVD Set, now this… ?

Sounds good, I've always loved clue. I was hoping, when I read the heading, that it would be more like the Scene It movies and have a DVD part included. Meh, love that they vamped up the characters

Some of the special edition Clue games are awesome, though—anyone ever see the Simpson's version with the Extenda-Golve weapon?!!! HA!!!!

This is the same type of thing they did in 1988 when Clue: Master Detective came out. It was a deluxe addition that had added suspects (I can remember Miss Peach and Sgt. Gray off the top of my head) as well as more weapons and a bigger game board with more rooms. As a kid I thought it was awesome. Why not update it?

NO!! the fact that it has been "modernized" is stupid. its not going to up the sales of clue. if they are having trouble selling the game, its cause everyone already has one!! the old version i would but (again) in a heartbeat. this new one just looks like another crappy board game.

Some updates are nice, like new photos of the characters but some things should have just remained the same :/

I like playing board games but none of my friends or family do so I've no one to play them with! If they wanted to make a modern "up-date" to an old game, they should have made it an on-line game! Maybe then there'd be someone to play the game *with*

clue is my favorite game ever. i do NOT like these changes. you cannot change their names! the game is a classic, they shouldn't have done all of those changes.
